Citigroup Announces Layoffs; AI Impact Debated

Citigroup announced over one thousand job cuts. Meta also cut 1,500 jobs in its virtual reality division. However, little evidence suggests AI is displacing workers en masse. A recent analysis found the proportion of AI-disruptible jobs remained steady. Macroeconomic uncertainty and immigration policy changes also influence the labor market.

The AI chase was naturally following, as we’ve always done, what the other big banks were doing. They all made grand promises with AI without actually understanding what it takes. They were used to tech moving fast. Well here’s AI, which yes can be leveraged, however it takes a tremendous amount of power to run. So the Thanos finger snap of ‘make it all happen now’ did not work. So, the promises made missed the deadline target.

What you’ll see next is a salary reset. This, all of this, is a tool in which to have you accept a salary lower than what you make now. It’ll be a salary that you’d laughed at years ago.
Maybe I’m wrong, maybe I’m not. Time will tell.

Not Jane though….her salary will remain the same of course because she’s making awesome decisions.

They have invested so much and are now ramming it down our throats because they have iver invested and realised it isn't paying off

AI is a tool in majority of cases, not a replacement
