Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Is it 4 hours, 6 hours, or 8 hours to count as 1 day in office? So confused

So Elcio today said a minimum of 8 hours a day in office in order for it to count as being in office, no exceptions.

But also today, the guy in charge of Operations, we over 2000 people on a call said it is understandable if you have to work 6 hours in office and make up the other 2 hours at home, we understand people have life priority and can’t expect everyone to stand and watch the count to be in at exactly 8 hours a day to count as in office when you have an emergency or have to pick up kids or elderly parents.

So many mixed messages.

I asked my manager is it 4 hours a day, 6 hours, or 8 hours minimum in office and he said he doesn’t know what counts, he has never been told. And he said he doesn’t care as long as I do my work since I sit by myself and the rest of the team is in OH, AZ, and MN.

So what is minimum?

Even worse when you're on a mac, there's an "issue" so none of my days apparently counted the last 3 months

left stuck in limbo wondering what I need to do to get a day to count (HR just closes the ticket if you inquire)

@hq while I understand this sentiment, a few contentious objectors here and there are just easy targets for firing.

This would require involvement from thousands of people. If you come up with a way to organize it to a mass scale, people might play. Otherwise this is just a pipe dream

If people stop participating all this bs ends and they can’t fire everybody so it’s time people. Stop participating and end the madness.

@ge they're trying to drive people away so they can post their job for 2/3 of the salary or offshore it. That's their entire strategy. It has nothing to do with retaining talent. At this point it's pretty obvious they want people to be as miserable as possible so they underperform and they can give them bad reviews and no raises or bonuses.

I frequently went in early AM, worked for an hour or two then was back home before the rest of my team logged on, all of those times counted. In Feb I didn’t stay a single day over 4 hours those all counted. It seems like as long as I connected my computer to in office internet I got credit for the day. Not sure if that will continue past March but I don’t care I stopped going in 5 weeks ago completely and quit last week so just another week to go thank god. They think these policies are going to keep the best people at the bank? The ones that have talent and some place to go will be the only ones that can leave…..

@a5 Elcio is a fu--ing dum--ss. About as smart as a box of rocks. He needs to be fired immediately. And the board needs to remove that stupid fu--ing bi--h Gunjan who occupies the CEO role despite being completely unqualified and incompetent.

I’ve been doing 4 hours in office, some days even less, and they’ve been tracking as an office day just the same as my 6+ hour days. If they don’t track for April then they’ll just have to fire me over not having my a-s in a seat long enough. Not complying with their BS when I’m over 30 miles from a hub and I work mostly with remote people and don’t need to be in office to get my job done.

They say it’s 8 hours unless you travel.
March I worked two 6 hour days in office and worked the last two at home, and they counted in the new tracker.
I also worked two 4 hour days in office and the last 4 at home and they did not count in the new tracker.
However all days counted in the old tracker when I did the same in February.

February I went in late a day and was only in for 5 hours and it counted. From what I’ve heard it’s 4. If I have to come in late for any reason due to appointments I’ve always made it an office day. Never had anyone say anything to me about it and never had it count against me. I think they have to understand life is a thing for everyone and there are going to be those kinds of days. Sounds like he’s full of it on the 8 hour bs.

@OP Your manager said “he doesn’t care as long as I do my work”

Your manager is why we get things done — he empowers his people to do their job and do it well.

El-io has no idea what you do, and he has no idea how to empower you to do your job well. He’s a detriment to this company and has wasted an inestimable amount of company resources on these foolish, asinine policies that do nothing whatsoever to help us deliver.

You know what else dont make sense? In my department, we have about 20 people. 12 in office, while the other 8 are remote. We all have exactly the same job.
Remote people do their work fine, no need to come in office.

But since the other 12 people live within 30 miles, we all have to sit in our cubicle for exactly 8 hours, even though many of us sit in different hubs.

I sit in a hub by myself and the and was remote till the madness started

Make it make sense

Office employees have to be in for a minimum of 8 hours but remote employees can roam as they please? Nothing makes sense. This place is a sinking ship.

Nobody knows. I stopped caring. They don't have the integrity for their past statements or promises to mean anything anyway.
