A lot of anger is about to occur. Keep in mind the midterm elections are upon us. Reach out to your congressional representatives and insist on legislation that will egregiously penalize any company who sells out Americans for cheap foreign labor. HIH is far worse than typical offshoring.

@n0 I don’t think anyone can assume they are safe.

@mz can we assume Evernorth IT is safe tomorrow?

@ak no, this will be the second and last big phase of the layoffs. First round impacted Evernorth more heavily. This one will include the healthplan, even areas like Underwriting.

@gc contractors arent usually counted in layoff numbers. only W2 workers aka full time. Contracts usually just "end"

@dx contractors and tech were already hit late december btw.. and contractor vendors found out in advance when they were rolling off. Pretty sure the 2k number is all FTE

@ez can’t argue, if the 9 weeks is true I’m looking at potentially the 9 weeks plus 48 weeks of severance and bonus payout. So total of 58 weeks plus my 2025 bonus.

@ez that’s a bottom barrel deal. I’ve heard of other companies giving 6 months of - pay, including bonus and PTO for the year even if you haven’t accumulated all of it, option to keep your laptop and work phone after getting it wiped, healthcare paid for, EAP, resume writing help and job placement service. Equity and 401k vesting requirements are canceled so you keep everything.

@eq Honestly that plus 6 months severance and your bonus isnt a shabby deal. Just su-ks the job market is in the Sh77tr.

@dx I have heard 2/19 is the date and manager command center calls have already been setup for wed, thurs and Friday for leaders to talk with HR for any questions/issues. Only positive I heard was that even though the notice date is 2/19 the termination date won’t be until 4/25. So everyone impacted has 9 weeks of FTE status and pay where they don’t have to work before their severance kicks in.

@ak I’ve no idea why they are doing this on a pay week but this is right. Confirmed that Thursday 2/19 will be catastrophic for tech. If someone is in HR here can you let us know why it’s a pay week this time? Is it bc it’s a lot of contractors?

@c2 Been hearing the 2/19 date a lot from someone once heavily involved with the IT org so where they got info from possibly, but same individual did not tell us about 1/29 layoffs.

The last time someone said "this is definitely the day ...", it wasn't.

@am If someone knew they were being layed off then at worst they would break a critical system/process on purpose and at best take the PTO that they would otherwise lose.

I love how my manager told me they’re letting people know on a “need to know basis”. Still haven’t heard anything on the Sales side. Just leaving us in the dark for as long as they can.

Does anyone know if call center employees band 1 or 2 are part of the layoffs? It's odd they offered SVTO sign up and then extended the date and now they canceled until next quarter. I just find it odd they 1st off earlier than usual and extended it and then said no maybe next quarter.

@a8 they post Command Center hours for pre-, during, and post with each round, with the next schedule being the 18th, 19th, and 20th.

I’m not sure about that. Based on other threads, the 26th seems to make more sense. The last round was on January 29th, which got people out before the end of the month, and historically they’ve tended to do it right before month end as well.

Is there any additional context behind your comment about the 19th?
