Thread regarding Accenture layoffs

Accenture Is Lying About the Real Reason for Its Layoffs

Accenture keeps saying they’re firing employees who “can’t learn AI.” That’s complete bullsh-t. The truth is, they’re laying off people in the U.S. and rehiring or contracting cheaper labor in Costa Rica and Colombia.
They’re using the “AI skills” excuse to distract everyone from what’s really going on — cost-cutting and outsourcing. Now a lot of former employees are suing them for unfair and deceptive practices.
Accenture wants to look like an AI-driven company, but what they’re really doing is replacing loyal workers with cheaper ones abroad.

@OP Well, they lie about most things. That's how they make their money. This is a core strategy and capability.

@1qn Who's ridiculous idea was it from the Marketing Mafia to rebrand as 'Song.' That has got to be the most id--tic branding mistake of all time. Take a concept and name it something the farthest away from what it actually does. I supposed it fits the idea of being nebulous in order to keep the Laundry going.

@nb I wonder if they're getting into the trades down there. Wouldn't surprise me if they need cash flow and all. It's not their first Laundry....I mean Rodeo.

@xg Unfortunately no it wont. I wish it was but they are all tied in with the World Economic Forum, Davos, Larry Fink of Black Rock who manages their 401K if you really dig in under the hood. No, their the biggest laundry in the world. The fit the grand plan that's been at play for years. Exporting American jobs, stealing our wealth, importing millions form the 3rd world brining the labor cost down....until the dived globally is so wide, you have the super wealthy, and all the rest, low cost labor, equally distributed globally. They are all part of what's going on today and the money will flow back in from the elites no problem. it's sad but the new and mid career stage folks need to understand that this has been the long game all the time.

@q3 Yea, their greedy consultants have something called a 'Power Map.' Every budget holder of a non consulting firm needs to read this - share it broadly. A power map is when they obtain an org chart of your business. Then their Oompa Loompa consultants run around and work to build it all out with a names.

Their goal as said to me on a call in front of about 20 other MD's...our goal is to replace every one of these boxes with our Indians. And if they have Indians off shore, we want those too. We want to replace their Indians with our Indians to create our annuity revenue. Their words, not mine.

If you see them coming, their entire model is based on offshoring and down grading the world. You need to find all ways to keep them out. And implement a vendor holiday for all consultancies so that you can see who you really need vs the grifters. Then replace the Accentures you need with Point B, much better firm. But pull resumes so that it is not a recent Accenture as you have no way of knowing if it's one of the grifters with the same game.

@1qnYea, and they treated many accomplished experienced hires like absolute trash and didn't consider that those very people have the power to hire and fire, cancel contracts from very high places even when they think 'they're in good.' I remember the HR Lady for example that escorted me out at 5:00PM after 15 years of high praise, working long, hard, 17 hour days. I had lined up a new job internally and they shut it down. Too old perhaps, too expensive but wearing 5 hats. But now, they treated myself and all my many pears like absolute dirt. Memory is long, pen is red, bids go through my desk now. So you think of that when you are looking for your next gig. You will have your opportunity in a different firm to ensure that that grift does not get in. Or that you do an audit of all the consultancies, bring things back in house, keep your IP, focus on Quality and the end user. Do a true cost analysis of all those consulting bodies running around spewing blather at 300 an hour. Yea, there is time in your career to be on the other side of the desk and 'make my day.' Karma and Ethics always win.

@g8 What a joke. Any 711 store offers a cert now. This is about cheap labor period. And know, Accenture views all human beings as insects. it's just a matter always rolling down the costs.

@OP Yea, all the tech firms are doing this too. It's the grand excuse to cull masses. Read the 4th turning. But Accenture has always done this. Right before covid for example, they attended Davos, they attended that modeling sesh of 'what if there was a pandemic,' then they ushered in a campaign for 'Make room for the new up and coming talent...make room.' That was to usher out the perceived old and expensive for cheaper labor. They been doing this for 30 years. It never changes. They'll use any excuse they can. Of all of them, Accenture is the worst. Get your plan B together. Don't wait. use your excess PTO because if you get popped, you won't get paid for that.

Investors aren't lying about the reason for dumping this tu-d. Political hack MDs are a cancer that gets bonuses for spreading poison and decay. Song is a sad song. The sales pipeline went out the door in the 22-24 range along with MDs who actually added value but saw the writing on the wall. Stock down 33% in the last year and tanking fast. Accidenture's race to the bottom marches on! 💸📉👎

MDs all are AI Certified, so no layoffs for them, also they are the Pillars of ACN and when they go Powerpoint will go to grave yard

Accenture is loaded up with debt. Health care costs ballooned for them this Fall. Businesses are cutting back on IT spend and AI is not as far along as Accenture wants you to believe. These CEOs have this myopic thinking about AI because of the media hype but they can't define it-can't see how it works or will play out--can't grasp the current limitations. It's like when Salesforce first came out it was all sales BS from Benioff and everyone started drinking the grape coolaid. It's the same with the pie in the sky AI which is code for hiring less expensive IT programmers and eliminate US Jobs. All in Indian cost $30 per hour. In the US it is $90. So, you do the math times 25,000 people x 40 x 52 and there you have your Big Delta.
