Decided to take the AEOI offer/option and it feels wonderful! Hoping there is enough like me that can get out of the way and lessen the blow on those who need to stay. Not a lot of confidence in the latest re-org since it’s the same LT in charge, not much chance that this one is going to be much better.
Eventually I fear that they will run out of assets to sell, people to cut and new words to describe their plan. When they do it will be too late and this great company will be the next Enron or swallowed up by another competitor.
Since the McKinsey clown show is so great, maybe they could buy us out! They are always right, right?

@g7+1jnv1wx54 There’s a large number of psg 25 in subsurface. Most start off as 20-21 depending on education level. After 20 years, it’s common to have achieved 25. But you’re right, some of those jobs will be offshored to engine. There’s a large amount of scientific data integration needed to understand the complexities of our reservoirs, how best to predict fluid flow, reservoir presence and distribution, etc. Maybe the labor force in India can do some of that better for cheaper. I doubt it, but I guess we’re about to find out.

@ft+1jnv1wx54 Serious question...why do we need PSG 25 subsurface technical folks? I'm assuming that's the reason we are pushing stuff to Engine? I'm happy for you, it's an honest question. I can't see paying more than PSG 23 for any technical role, unless you're a PHD fellow or something?

At PSG25 and in a subsurface technical role, it’s hard to find jobs that pay even 50% of what I’m currently making, as much as I’d love to jump. So I guess it’s ride or d*e for the next 8-10 years until I get my full pension. Golden handcuffs. Life could be worse so I’m not complaining exactly. But yes I am.

Too many olds in this thread who can’t believe there’s better options than Chevron out there. In IT, finance, HR, procurement early careers can afford to EOI because it’s easy to find another gig that pays similar or better. In mid career, it’s a little harder but still possible depending on PSG and expertise and location. Late career might be hardest until you’re within a year or two of retiring because you’ve probably lost technical skills and can’t replace your higher PSG salary elsewhere which is why these old legacy chevroids refuse to believe posts that early careers are leaving and call them troll posts.

I’m mid career and know at least 4 around my same time taking it in San Ramon. That’s on top of the other half dozen or so I know who have already left Chevron for other jobs.

This isn’t just early retirees.

Someone in another thread the expectation was for 2000 to AEOI mostly because San Ramon holdouts won’t move to Houston at this point.

Good job! Those of us willing to undergo the selection process know that staying with Chevron isn't the end of our problems and, in fact, things may worsen before they get better. The same "leadership" that got us to this point will still be in charge.

Sadly there’s no option for AEOI in my BU, and since many functions in the BU are being entirely eliminated, others taking AEOI won’t help. :(
