Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

If you are sick - stay home

Nobody wants to hear your sniffling coughing sneezing all day and worse yet become a victim of your super spreading. You can tell when one is around even when they are silent - the air smells funny. FWF for forcing these sickly people to show up and sit in an already crowded space to meet the 8 hours a day, 3 days a week in-office mandate so that the rest of us could benefit from their presence.

Was around person coughing in the office, nowhere else to sit. Ended up with the Flu, passed it on to my kid and my vulnerable mother. Thank you for that.

You're clueless if you think we're "forcing" HY to anything. The couldn't care less how often you are in the office. The only point of it is to drive attrition, so whether you don't go in (and get fired for it), do go in but cut corners and make the system look like a joke (makes the place seem like there's no future, which motivates people to quit), or you go in with a smile on your face (to be downsized anyway) they win. What they really want is you in the office never again, before you won't work at WF anymore. That's what they want. Zero days per week, zero hours per day. Doesn't have a thing to do with what we do or don't do, unless what you do is move to India.

@OP The days of I’m sick I’ll work from home today are over. My group wants you in office and doesn’t care if you are sick.

@ag In California PTO and sick days are separate, unless you go out on disability, then the first 5 days are from PTO.

@g5

Hey d-mb d-mb. PTO is all inclusive and includes time for sick days. People that work here are dullards. I swear people think they are owed everything. Prior to Covid if you were sick you stayed home. Grow the Feck up and act like adults. Everyone complains about RTO yet you abuse the system consistently and force our leaders to treat us like children.

@OP Sorry I need my RTO hours. Those supersede your health worries .

This has gotten really bad in AZ. People showing up sick coughing and hacking. Then again, they are tracking time in the office. Some of these people likely coming in because of schedule can only come in on certain days.

Forgot to say I missed the lunch break the most. Teammates from different culture walked to a nearby place to eat.
Now, AI brought lunch and sit together.

In the old days, we went to office four or five days a week. When we felt under the weather, we asked permission to work from home.
Missed the old days.

Nope. Not wasting my PTO on sickness!

Not only the wasted PTO, and maybe more impactful, are the missed opportunities for collaboration and cross-functional communication.

Those are benefits that, once lost, can never be recovered.

I'm not burning PTO days just cuz I've got a cold. If wells had a more seamless way to request an in-office exception for a few days I'd do that, but they make you go through your manager by design to make it hard to use. Wear a mask if it really bothers you

Right on. Not to mention strong cologne mixed with BO permeating the entire section of the floor!
