Associate Survey

Do you think associates will answer honestly on the associate survey? I wonder what the responses will be on the pay and benefits question considering last year's merit and AIP?

Director just sent reminder to fill out the survey. The goal is 100% response rate with smiley face at the end of the sentence. I don’t know why the smiley face, they aren’t gonna like the responses. 😀 what a useless waste of time for everyone involved.

@cn same. My boss got put on a performance improvement plan because we complained about senior management. As a result, we had to do a bunch of team building exercises. We weren't even complaining about our direct manager but they literally were punished instead of senior management taking accountability. Pathetic.

More than a few very negative surveys on on my manager, nothing has changed.

They don't care.

Company surveys have never been anonymous. That’s why you’re given a special code and told not to share it with others. That being said, as a former 20+ year manager, survey responses were never used as a factor in RIFs. I was told by my leaders how many positions I had to eliminate and I made the decisions based on different aspects of performance. That may not be the way it’s done across the board, but survey responses has never been part of my RIF selection process.

I just rate all questions as a 10 so our team doesn't have to go through the tedious "fix it" mandate. The higher ups can have a congratulatory circlej--kand tell themselves all is well, just as long as we don't have to add another project to our team's list.

@kd This is partially true. They will hold middle managers accountable for negative scores, but never stop to consider or address that negative ratings are most commonly directed toward executive leadership. Notice that they have now changed the surveys to never reference SLT, the way they used to.

Anyone else receiving annoying reminder emails to complete the second survey or am I just special? I heard more than a quarter of employees on average did not respond to the last survey.

@ae you should be able to..I would email them and ask. I did several years ago and changed a few responses good luck

Surveys are just like annual performance reviews. It is just management checking a box so they can say they did something during the year.

This organization is an absolute embarrassment.

They don't care about those surveys, nor you.

@gp Nothing happens or action comes from survey because leadership doesn't care. The surveys are just a show. I don't understand the point and yes they are biased.

@k8 Hahaha. Kinda like journalist are objective. Anytime payment is involved or a company wants to stay in business bias very much comes into play. It's virtually impossible for bias not to be built into everything we do.

@gn OMG that is the most ridiculous answer ever. Of course a third party can be manipulated. Especially if you are paying them to conduct the survey. Whybtge he-l do you think thet would be bias free? The bias begins when being paid for a service.

They don’t necessarily “track” them for riffs but I can tell you from direct experiences that the way they break down the data, if your manager or director has a lower number of direct reports, they can 💯 narrow it down to who gave them the negative numbers. I had a manager approach me and ask me point blank if there was an issue because they received negative numbers from 3 people and it was only 2 people in a previous year and I was new to the team. They know who scores them negatively. So if there is a riff list to be made by the manager, guess who is getting on it. They will find a way to “justify” it. I’ve seen it happen.

@fv Exactly for years rumors spread that they are tracked for RIFS and it’s just pure ignorance. Elevance uses a survey company. There is no bias. This is why nothing happens because people believe in hoaky information and either don’t complete the survey or don’t reply with honest feedback.

@ge This is false rumor that spreads year after year. Elevance uses a third party for the surveys so there can be no bias.

@fz this is extremely inaccurate information. Elevance uses a third party so there can be no bias.

@g5 Please let us know how you know this doesn’t factor into the riff list? How can you be so sure?

I was completely honest, because at this point I have nothing to lose. This is not how they come up with the RIF list.

@fv Responses are confidential not anonymous. Big difference. Now you’re the one spreading false information. They absolutely can link it back to you if they needed to.

The surveys are not linked to an individual 🤦‍♀️ They are completely anonymous. Now there are “people” who spread rumors that they are linked because leadership absolutely wants you to think they are without saying it so you won’t be honest.

The survey seems linked to workday, how could it possibly be anonymous I don’t believe that for a second. It could be anonymous to the manager, but not confidential. Even that first question about if we would recommend the company it sounds paranoid. I don’t understand the intention because I don’t think there’s a motive to change. And what easier way to quell your conscience about riffs is to let go people who aren’t happy at the company. I think taking the survey is definitely a risk. I’m not about to lie and rate them high because that’s disingenuous, but I feel being honest is putting a target on your back for RIFs. I think personally I’m not going to fill it out, after all, I’m a busy worker bee who doesn’t have time.

manager here. PLEASE complete this and answer truthfully. I gave 0's almost across the board and used AI to rewrite my responses so they didn't sound like 'me". The results roll up by leader but ARE completely anonymous.. I blasted the RIF's and the in-office mandate. Its absolutely absurd what is happening right now.

EVERYONE that works here knows it's a cesspool. Most people despise their job but it all comes down to how phony you can be, how well you can act like you actually give a sheet, etc.

Unpopular opinion, but i was honest. I'm not lie. I'm also not going to abstain because how does disengagement look better than showing integrity.

If I were reviewing it, I would highly question someone with 9s/10s across the board and no comments. No one is a 10/10 right now. They know that. Why wouldn't there also be an outlier score to indicate untruthfulness and not just disengagement?

Don't be bullied into lying. You can either get riffed telling the truth or riffed having held your tongue. If you want the job, you go down fighting.

Why do they need surveys? If they really want to know what the employees think, all they have to do is read the posts and responses on this site! :) The only suggestion addressed from the last survey was one the manager could dump on a worker bee to try to remedy.

First question is Would you recommend as a great place to work. How can you answer that with a straight face. Like no, I definitely wouldn’t recommend to friends as who knows when they would get riffed. This company is really fishing for compliments or people to riff.

@b0 I agree. They always make this lower management problem. My manager is fine it is all the yahoos above her that su-k and convolute every problem. Sh-t is not that hard to fix but when everyone is clueless leadership can blame the problems on something else. None of the questions even touch on upper management. What a scam of a survey

I am not bothering to fill it out any longer. I was honest and still here but the issues are leadership with lack of communication and adding more work to an area that is stretched way too thin after multiple RIFs. The results of the last survey stated that but they expected lower management that is doing a good job to come up with a plan to fix those issues that aren't even theirs. I'm done. I have work to do.

It is not really anonymous. If you answer honestly and what you have to say is negative in any way, you are taking a risk.
