For the coffee badgers since RTO, seems we have been busted big time.
Anyone has any idea how to game the system with this 8 hour rule.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

An end to a glorious era. Thanks for the memories.
@g3 it won't work because they are cross referencing ip addresses for your laptop activity. But knowing this.place the reports are probably inaccurate right now so.you.might have a few weeks of wiggle room
I work remote but have been told to return to the office. I know someone who lives near CIC who's unemployed at the moment. I'm considering giving them my badge, and paying them $100-$150/day to badge in, hang out in the food court all day, then badge out after 8 hours. In the meantime, I'll login from home and get the job done - at least for the next few weeks. Would this work? Some of the money I'd be paying for this "service" would be offset by the money I'd be saving in gas.
@a3 please don't share any loopholes here (you're right that they'll close them if you do).
@ak Not from HY. Just don’t want group think to get good people fired.
@ad Oh, it works.. They scheme, why can't we? I would never have this attitude if not for their hostile and unethical treatment over the years. You from HY?
Posted this elsewhere, but the most effective way to both maliciously comply with this and reclaim the work-life balance that Wells is trying to steal, is to use the in-office requirement as a rationale to draw strict boundaries on your start and stop time each day. Stop taking off-hours calls to accommodate people in other time zones. Stop checking email outside your 8 hours. They want to take flexibility away from workers, retaliate by no longer being flexible on Wells Fargo's behalf. Will be hard to push back on if you frame it as just trying your best to comply with the stated requirements.
“They want to play games? So can we.“ You proved my point. Look, I think it’s d-mb too. But scheming isn’t going to work.
@OP Go to office @ 7:00 am. Leave office at 7:05…..
Go home.
Come back at 2:55, badge in.
Leave at 3:00
First badge in 7:00 am
Last badge out 3:00 pm
Calculated time in office: 8 hours
Actual time in office: 10 minutes
Or use up a lot of pto for this insanity? I do and I’m done, I want my pto for my time, not to satisfy a d-mb in office requirement where it has zero benefit because I work with no one there. I have given them 12+ hour days of no break conference calls back to back then use 4 hours pto to satisfy driving in the office. These rules are not for productivity, they are clearly to get people to quit. They are not for efficiency or they wouldn’t blindly layofff with no plan of workload coverage. They win, they get us quitting and piling work on the ones left until something bad happens and they are in another scandal. It’s going to happen and they may not survive it. I’m jumping off as soon as it benefits me cause I’m tired of shifting my life for their insanity.
@a7 Incorrect, "coffee badging' is the way. Other than making HY happy, I have absolutely NO reason to be in there. I have a far better work environment at my home office than there will ever be in a WF office. I think we can all agree on that. None of my teammates are in the same building, let alone state as me. Going in there is a 100% waste of time for me. I get much more done at home and always will for many reasons. Now, they will get much less from me and I will make up for their unethical treatment any way I can. They want to play games? So can we.
All you have to do is.........
@a5 Because coffee-badging isn’t passive resistance. It is malicious compliance.
@a5 I’m sending you a big high five. Well said!
Who cares if we were 'coffee badging?' I always worked 8 hours even if I were in the office for 30 minutes. When these orders came down years back, how long you had to be in the office was NEVER specified. So they can su** it. I hope there will be lawsuits for unfair, hostile and unethical labor practices.
Working on it. Will share tactics after severance. Concerned that loopholes will be closed after posting.
Identical twin job share?
