Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

U.S. Bank Discrimination Against People of Color

https://forbespanama.com/u-s-financial-institutions-former-ai-chief-accuses-financial-institution-of-discrimination/

[Ex-AI Chief], who was born in India, says he was thriving in his function as a vp and chief analytics officer till the financial institution abruptly subjected him to “discrimination, harassment and retaliation.” The final straw, [Ex-AI Chief] claims, was that after he lastly misplaced his job, U.S. Financial institution badmouthed him to a different monetary agency that was on the verge of hiring him.

This stalemate continued till November, when [Ex-AI Chief] discovered that one other worker can be taking on as chief of synthetic intelligence — a job [Ex-AI Chief] had held since 2019. Within the criticism, [Ex-AI Chief]’s attorneys pointedly confer with this worker as “a white man,” and attribute the choice to racism.

“It remains clear that these discriminatory actions were intended by U.S. Bank to replace Mr. [Ex-AI Chief], a person of color,” the criticism says.

I agree with skunky....this bank goes out of its way for the LGBtq49-a crowd....which includes the POCs.

Which off topic but why is it called POC when th only color is brown

The bank puts a lot of effort in promoting people of color, women and the LGBTQ community. If anyone should be stirring the pot it should be white males but that’s unacceptable.

@c6 if you do not know what’s happening that’s okay. Move on. There is no need to opine on matters you do not know. You are not informed in all aspects of all matters around our bank. This is not an indictment on people of a color as much as it is an indictment on certain leaders who misused their positions to harm others.

I don’t know the details of this case but I have personally seen some cases that I’m surprised did not make it to the news.

Like all aspects of life there are good apples and bad apples in every place. USB has some really rotten ones who are targeting people of certain backgrounds more than others.

@f1 if you do not care that’s okay. There is nothing classy about attacking real victims of targeted attacks.

@fe now that is uncalled for. Is GK useless? Yes. There is nothing classy about badmouthing a whole country or its people. And talking of third world? Are you as ignorant as you sound or is it just that you choose to be that way? We here in the US are fast becoming what you call third world. Look ag the cost of healthcare and basic human needs. The rest of the world is not what you see on TV

@g1 it’s not overplayed one bit. Only those whose shoes are pinching know it’s hurting and what’s causing it. I respect that people do often throw the “color card” out left and right but that doesn’t mean targeted attacks do not happen. Just be open to listening and you’d be amazed by what you hear and learn.

Worked at this clown bank for 15+ years. I’m a person of color with 9 golds, multiple silvers, and bronze awards, and managed a team of 30+ people. You’d think performance mattered, right? Wrong. My manager felt threatened because I was actually good at my job. With his EVP buddy, they demoted me out of my role into a glorified individual contributor position.
When I went to HR, they did… absolutely nothing. (Shocker!) Eventually, they laid me off.
Since then, I’ve applied to multiple jobs I was perfectly qualified for, rejected every single time. Funny how “do the right thing, speak up” turns into “we’ll blacklist you quietly.”
And yet, the bootlickers, coffee-fetchers, and head-nodders keep getting promoted. This is the star culture at US Bank: reward mediocrity, punish backbone.
I’m posting this because I loved the bank. It gave me everything. But management? They took everything away. What a joke. Rest in peace, USB.

@ay

‘McKinsey old boys club’ with a female McKinsey vet at the helm (who was President for years) and the bank is hemorrhaging customers. Fake history!

I think it's interesting that everybody posting about people of color think that the only people who work at US Bank are either white or Indian. So Black people, Asians Indigenous people, Latinos, etc just don't exist at the bank to any of you. There's more than just Indians and whites getting hired/fired here and the fact that a lot of you think that there is only the dichotomy of Indian or white workers a major part of the problem.

@af why does people of color topic upset you? There are many issues at our bank now. People of color are being targeted and pushed out especially if they are smarter than the incompetent club that HR has hired or promoted and wants to protect. It’s a McKinsey old boys club.

@a9 What a bunch of crock. There is zero data to back up what you have posted. To the poster who said “Indians are incompetent” that alone shows you are uninformed and prejudiced.

BTW the level of competency you demonstrate by conflating THEN and THAN shows us you are just a pathetic loser judging people by their skin color.

USB is pushing out a lot of very talented people. HR is the real joker in the pack. They do everything to protect themselves even if that means good talent is sacrificed.

To the OP:

Why would you post this gibberish?

Use better judgment.

The obvious AI garbage is bad enough. Even worse that people like you repost it and contribute to its propagation.

Stop exacerbating the problem

First, it's a pretty hilarious that the author of that article was clearly using AI to talk about an AI guy getting wrongly fired. Such an oddly worded article.

Second, the only Indian leaders I know who are getting fired are people who are incompetent. If anything I see more Indian people getting hired then white men. So I doubt it's racism against Indian folks.

I know plenty of people around the bank of all races who are incompetent at their role. So I have my doubts.
