Any idea if this is going to happen at Melville?

@qt Perhaps ICE should be called to determine if SK is here legally.

Anyone know if the layoffs will impact CVI?

@q6 that is exactly what SK wants. Is entire time in his position has been working to crash the US business. He's kind of I don't know if it's the right term, but racist.

@fz That company will fold up like a circus 🎪 tent. Sammy and his bootlickers deserve the karma chainsaw and more.

Any chance we can get SK to do a voluntary layoff scenario? it would be a great opportunity for many that do not want to be there to just take the severance and unemployment and run… I think the numbers would be remarkable.

@b7 Past reports have suggested that Canon has systematically reduced its workforce in quarterly intervals, which allows the company to manage the number of layoffs at a single time and potentially sidestep the federal WARN Act's notification requirements.

I will always have the utmost respect for the company I worked for years ago when they went to “ONE” they knew their direction from day one and from day one you knew where you were going to land. Not like the abuse we get from Canon every day you wonder if you’re going to still be employed or not! have

@c2 Smash any Canon products with a sledgehammer and send the pieces to SK.

Sadistic sub-human best describes SK. On another note, perhaps maybe PK has a target 🎯 him given he had no speaking role.

Turning back to the main topic here. SK can KMA.

@bh Start by not buying their product, tell your friends and family to stop buying their products. Hit them in their wallet, who needs a printer any more, who needs a camera anymore. Buy American, the same way they only buy Japanese cars and products when they come here.

Isn’t it ironic that the Japanese called the attack on Pearl Harbor “Operation AI”.

Here we are just over 84 years later, history seems to be repeating itself. SMH

I guess we can call it “Burl Harbor”.

AH HA! That’s why they want everybody to start turning their cameras on for calls. They want to see you cry when they tell you the news that your job has been eliminated! Don’t give them that satisfaction, laugh in their face and give them the double barrel middle finger!

See, the Burlington building renovation wasn’t just about CFS moving in next summer. It was a sinister plan to eliminate people, and have people clear their stuff out at the same time. This was mentioned last month on here, it wasn’t a conspiracy theory after all. The CEO is just flat out EVIL at this point. A total SC-MBAG and LIFE LOSER.

@b7 there is a number of ways they can circumnavigate WARN, including providing at least a certain number of days worth of severance.

@b0 more likely this month. Things they don’t want to complete themselves must get done before those that complete it are laid off.

Canon did NOT follow the WARN ACT. I wonder if they laid off less than 30% or more. Someone must know a legal type person who could look into this further, no?

Are these layoffs happening in New Jersey?

@ae Agreed.. The fact that they had everyone sit thru a 4hr meeting just to be called this morning and laid off speaks volumes.. This round seems like a pretty good amount of people were let go...

@a8 I wouldn't be surprised if another round happens in the summer.. We are all being phased out, it's just a matter of time..

@af With all that, and the contract department losing HALF? CPC gone? We're simply not going to be able to function as a company. The contract department was already critically understaffed and couldn't manage the load. Response times were terrible (no offense to them, they were too understaffed to manage the load).

This is insane... It borders on intentional sabotage.

A reminder that unemployment is linked to higher risks of fatal outcomes. By firing people Canon is responsible for destroying these peoples lives, whether financial or mortal. it happened to them, it can happen to us.
Document everything off company hardware.
Demand paperwork any time somebody sneezes and no one says "bless you"
All verbal conversations require an immediate written recap statement
Union up folks, this is only the start.

So, for the record, the CPC team is gone. OM lost most. Tiered lost a few. Contracts lost half. That's on top of the ones lost the previous round. To add insult to injury the American Contracts team is now being told they will support the CBPS in the Philippines who were originally contracted to support the gutted American Contracts team 6 months ago. Let's completely ignore the FACT that the Philippines team has DONE NOTHING correctly or timely. The remaining American customers are going to end their relationship with Canon USA which is exactly what SK wants. If you didn't hear it during the meeting yesterday, the Japanese contingent absolutely loathes the American USA people. They tolerate CFS but I doubt that will last long.

No word from my team's corner of the country, but honestly... two weeks after the holidays and make everyone go into the office for a 4-hour teams meeting, THEN start layoffs the following day?

Absolutely heartless actions from those who are willing to ruin a bunch of people's lives to transfer that wealth into the hands of the few.
