Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

When people ask why some of us are still here

I hate the company culture and all the layoffs, but I have a fantastic manager and great coworkers. That's so rare and it's the only reason I'm still here. I don't want to risk that, even with everything else.

@da got lucky to be reorganized under a great manager after my old team was dismantled, left an old team after my boss there left. Very important indeed

@fy In the US, the maximum used to be different based on job grade, but they changed the policy in February 2025 (latest) to set the maximum at 52 weeks for all job grades. Minimums are still different dependent upon grade at 8, 12, 16, or 24 weeks.

Even though the employee handbook lists weeks of severance at 2x years service plus three months of fully funded COBRA, have received information that it depends on the job classification. Some will only receive a maximum of 14 weeks. Can anyone confirm?

There are a lot of really good people on the ground here. This company could be successful both financially and customer satisfaction if they would actually push authority, accountability and responsibility down.

I am still here and not looking externally because:

  • I love my direct manager and the fact that he fights for my best interests while I do my part to fight for the company's best interests even if the company doesn't like it.
  • I have been here for almost 30 years and am within a few years of retirement and am not interested in all of the additional effort required to find another job in this market for just a few years.
  • A full 52 weeks of severance pay would be very nice and might allow me to just retire instead of having to find a new job.

All of that being said, if any one of those things were different, I'd be out there looking for a new job in a heartbeat.

@OP I did too, until my manager was let go. That really changed my job satisfaction.

Huge reason to stay is colleagues and manager. Ride that as long as you can!
