I'm on the marketing team and my skip hasn't called us back to the office yet. Personally I'm not going to celebrate the ELT or cheer on RTO but honestly the day to day still feels just fine, like I don't feel a g-n on my back and the people are still fine. I don't feel doom and gloom on by day to day here, that's just me. Feels like any regular company in 2025 although sometimes I do sigh ok boomer at the all hands to myself but it still feels ok as a whole. Going on 2 years here

@2q2 Great place to work if you want to layoff people for a living.
I'm an HR representative here, I've been with Teradata since the NCR days and I was based in Ohio and went remote. It's a nice place to be with lots of smart people and good benefits
when did Teradata lose United Healthcare? Seems that UH is still hiring Teradata DBAs per their website.
By no means am saying Teradata is in great shape, just curious on the source / credibility of that particular allegation.
@pr Lost United Health, lost Airbus, lost Vodaphone, lost National Australian Bank
@sj Delta Airlines? Southwest Airlines? Bank of America? Wells Fargo? Verizon? Teradata is still a Behemoth to be reckoned with from Snowflake
@pr The only reason they are still "on Teradata" is because it was a freebie and they can't get "off Teradata" fast enough.
@pr: Wrong! Virtually every company you listed has either already unplugged all/most of their Teradata systems or is in the process of doing so. I am very intimate with Apple who once was Teradata largest customer and has decommissioned their last Teradata system about a year ago in favor of Snowflake. You're living in the past man.
@p7 Amazon, Walmart, Apple, CVS Health, McKesson, IBM, UnitedHealth Group, Costco Wholesale, W.W. Grainger, Cigna
@nr Name 10 Fortune 500 on Teradata.
@mp if you really think SM is here TD you're delusional, we realize he's busy shaping the direction of the company setting it up for growth. Lots of F500 on TD
What Steve McMillan who's posting on this forum and larping as a developer doesnt understand is that Teradata doesnt even enter the conversation when a business is considering a new database. Even worse when a business is looking to upgrade its infrastructure Teradata is one of the first things they review. Its just sad and unintentionally humorous to everyone that was layed off that this is every customers default behavior.
@fv right of course the engineer is willing to put down a non-stem major every STEM major I knew was always so full of themselves, like they were saving the world. Teradata isn't perfect but it's still just fine
I am glad someone confirmed we had a marketing department...who knew?!?!?!
Dude you’re in marketing, what do you even do all day? You feel fine because you don’t understand the technology and how it’s not competitive anymore. Just look at the stock price. What new customers has TD signed in the past 5 years? Use your brain.
I'm on vantage and it's amazing here IMHO. Why are you annoyed with the townhalls? I feel the ELT has been transparent in them...glad you're happy to be here
@OP I've been here for over 5 years in what most people could consider a high pressure role on the front lines. I am happy. And I am glad you are happy. Its challenging and my manager challenges me every week and I'm growing. I also am happy to see all the boomerangs return. I'm here to make a difference and am hoping to take on a new challenge here soon!
@OP I think RTO is a scam. Next they'll be taking back no-work Fridays and unlimited vacation.
You are.
