Thread regarding Belk layoffs

What are you still doing here?

I don't remember a time when it was easier to leave a lousy job for a much better opportunity than now. I quit a month ago and my new position has better pay and benefits AND it came with a sign-on bonus. Every single person that works here deserves much better than Belk has been offering and now every one of you can get it. You just have to go for it.

So if you go with “shilly” line, does it mean you don’t have an answer? Or if I’m not excited to switch a cr---y job to another cr---y job it upsets you? Is there a personal reason you have to convince everybody leave Belk? Maybe you are one sore shilly?

Alright, from the list of “ better places” Chick-Fil-A, Target and Hobby Lobby are around where I am. I don’t know about Chick-Fil-A, maybe they offer full time and awesome benefits, I don’t believe that fast food environment can be “great job”, but Target and Hobby Lobby are not better in any category! Hectic, low skill jobs with high turnover. Kroger has great benefits, but jobs are he-l as well. You have to be available 24/7 and you will be scheduled for any time of day and night.
What else available?

@1hzr Fake news. You're wrong. They do not all pay sign on bonuses.

Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Target, Hobby Lobby, Harris Teeter, Chick Fil A, and Von Maur, Publix all do

@fti They never name the company because it is never true. Just a bunch of fake news and opinions.

Can you name companies like that?

Belk will work you like full time, even though you're part time with no benefits, a basic measly $3.00 for credit card sales, which makes them money due to third party sharing, a presell goal of thousands to reach, and you get a Belk gift card, big deal.
Trust us, there are companies who give breaks, raises, holiday bonuses, will work with you to schedule day/days you request off, and treat you with respect.

No you didn’t, you can’t even conceal your true identity, your writing style is so obvious, you, me, and everyone else who reads this board knows you are a shill. Heck, you may be Hendricks, Harper, Hawkins, Patel? Are you? Did these posts strike a chord with you? Are you afraid something will be revealed on this board that is a “top secret” piece of information? Employees and customers are not as d-mb as you think!

So the question is what are you still doing here? If and when Belk shuts doors- what will you do then? I don’t understand sticking around wishing and hoping things improve. From the posters here it sounds to me it’s time is running out. So why not move on before it happens? The company doesn’t owe you anything- including a severance. I left 8 mos ago. best decision ever

That’s just the shill responding in anger because of all these valid and true posts on here, there is nothing else they can do but belittle people. It shows their sad desperation and true lack of intelligence which has driven this company at full force into the ground.

What field is your new job? I’m assuming it’s nor retail.
What is your education level? What skills and experience do you have to be in high demand?
Stop belittling people who choose to stay. And they don’t have to explain themselves to anyone.

But I keep praying the Belk family will buy it back from Sycamore and take us back to 1996 with a cheery feeling of family again. They will take care of us, bathe us, and feed us and our families. They actually care about me. Meanwhile I’ll just wallow in the pits with my fellow coworkers and cry about
conditions on the Layoff
