Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

DPAIO Meeting

This Rat guy is terrible. He clearly has no clue. Just buzzwords. He is a gift to keyword bingo. Where he's good, though, is he is setting up a multi-year restructuring which buys him time with the board and creates a rope-a-dope for how bad he is.

He starts with saying the layoffs were thoughtful and considered only after other efficiencies were considered. Then he rattled off 3 projects with no demonstrated or measurable operating gain. They just add overhead and increase complexity. But they're pet projects and he's clueless to seeing that.

And make no mistake. "Global expansion" means CGS outsourcing because they have a very clear bias against US workers. The layoffs aren't over.

I can confirm the same. There is a coordinated push to transition more work offshore to facilitate the reduction.

Rat’s directs are reporting to their teams that there are not more layoff I. The near future.

Agreed. We should give all employees a break who don't know what they're doing and aren't very articulate. And let's make sure we layoff those who do. That'll really help with the headwinds. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Give the new guy a break! He knows nothing about this industry.

Rat is one of the worst speakers I've heard. The two DPAIO meetings have been jokes and a waste of time to sit and listen through. His favorite phrase is "By the way..."

It's going to be a painful 18+ months for 99% of those that report up through him.

You aren't kidding. The people let go in my department were vital and probably combined earned $200K. I'm so sure that really helps those "headwinds." He could've paid all three salaries out of his bonus.

I get a kick out of this company. Buzz words and lies are all they have. Glad I don't work here. My employeer won't do business with this place.

He made it clear today that more are coming.

Cr-ppy indeed. If you have to crisscross the country for each job, you're doing something wrong. That tells the tale right there. How many people do you know who pack up their families and move in order to stay employed, unless their real job title is "hitman"? I mean, we know he's not in the CIA or military. So which is it, is he a hitman or is he just so objectively bad at leading that he can never find his next gig in the state he's currently living in? Both options su-k for us.

For those not versed in Indian culture you are missing the hierarchical and collectivist overtones and actions. I doubt HR sees it either. I agree with OP. There is bias against the US worker and the "free and equal" attitudes that come with them. Gale doesn't care because she gets subservient labor. These are sad times.

Exactly. "We take layoffs seriously" is the most disingenuous statement ever. Headwinds. Whatever. If he was serious he would have laid off the top-heavy dead weight rather than focusing on people making 1/16th what he makes.

Ratnakar said that due to the 18 months of "headwinds" that there will most likely be more business aligned layoffs.

Agreed, the constant talk about "Human Capital" was pretty gross. Also "Optimizing the Workforce".
Definite more layoffs in the future, looks like 2025 will be a big layoff year.
