Too much QA

So many levels of checking and checking the checker why not cut some of those people they seem like dead weight

We have the QA folks checking the checkers in India. They don’t have access to the systems and have no idea what they should be checking.

@frh+1v65F4dF "Poor business requirements" You had business requirements? I did two applications (1 a 1.5 yr 2 FTE SWE) and another 2 yr 2.5 FTE SWE) neither of which the SWE (software engineer) had any business reqs—had to come up with our own. I kept looking for reqs in any of the 20 apps/web pages over the 11 years I was at this bank. I never saw any business requirements (good or bad). Just a big spaghetti factory. Maybe all of my 6 managers hid them from me.

Yeah pretty funny how you follow your procedures, been QA for 10 years, now we have a new QA team who is now QAing us and marking us off because they are not familiar with our work and don’t have accesses in order to verify our work. Now that we are overworked due to the latest reorg and have to learn work that the previous team were let go was working, we are getting QA on that new work. We don’t know what we are doing, but that is ok, once we get enough markoffs and dings if they decide not to reverse our bogus findings, it is just a setup for us to fail so we can get fired instead of getting a severance. What a great company, so sad, .

In general I would agree with original post. However, there are some really poor performers in this org that half @ss everything. Sometimes varies significantly between business groups and functions, and needs to be uncovered.

Poor business requirements leads to sh---y code which leads to sh---y checking.

I have a checker checking the checker event going on right now. I found something that neither the original, the checker, or the checker2 found.

The machine is very very complicated. The better we get at finding things wrong the more wrong things we find.

That wouldn’t cut out the number of checks. New checks would be invented. Checks for the checks, and checks for the checks checking the checks. How do not understand this? This is why we need checks!

Go get yourself checked.

If you could just follow directions do things right the first time, they wouldn't be there.
