Lots of great people getting let go. Great people who do important work. This is going to make those who survive even more spread thin. I’m absolutely devastated over recent losses. It will hurt the bottom line. Leadership doesn’t know it yet. Id--ts.

@rp The old severance policy was quietly removed several years ago. I think right now the new policy is at management's discretion, so I wouldn't expect to receive anything.
Laying of very talented and engaged long-term employees...In smaller chunks, so that it doesn't make it into the news headlines. The company would be great, but is now a place filled with favouritism.
@gf we've had several axed in NA Higher ED CSDD content strategy and digital delivery

Anyone else notice the reviews on Glassdo or are mostly realistic highlighting the real situation including all the negatives, but then quickly followed by 100% positive one-liner reviews from India/Sri-Lanka. Part of the deal ?

Pearson has been laying off regularly for the past decade or so and moving jobs to India (Cognizant).
Why are you surprised?
Well, I hope SL's vacation during BTS was a huge success and fun was had by all!
After all these layoffs, they know the end result is the loss of good to great talent but they either don't care (it's not them losing their job) or more than likely, they are powerless to do anything about it.
Yes an AI customer service chatbot will sell students AI-created learning material with no need for real editors, sales people or customer service staff anymore - pure genius, lol.
@20g There is guaranteed to be another round…like forever.
Was saved during this round of layoffs; do you think there will be another round in november?
@1em a little over a year but what I’m dealing with is bad and scary and cannot speak about it here for legal reasons. I had to leave town.
How long were you with company? How much severance do they owe you?
HR are doing quite a bit of recruiting at present. One job references responsibilities such as HR transformation and delivering restructuring change programmes. Career architecture is being rolled out and further embedded in the next 6 months. More lay offs defintely on the way as part of this.
Absolutely ridiculous! I urge everyone to file with the EEOC. They haven’t paid my severance.
@fr Nothing announced at all hands for NA higher Ed..

The good news is that SL let us know about her super important vacation next week, right in the middle of BTS! Can't wait for the recap! Read the room, bozo.
NA Custom. Three of the 8-person team axed.
Can we normalize giving context and info. Where were there layoffs? Teams? Departments? Again, stop creating more anxiety and be forthcoming.
Which divisions?
Laying off in smaller batches so it goes unnoticed. I wonder if this is the one that was meant to happen later in the year or is that one is still remaining?
@OP
Which division(s) ? Yes, they normally let people go and later discover the consequences, mostly to the detriment of the few people left.
