In DC, we believe. He’s one of the hardest working executive in Nike

GT doesn’t support his org well

Looks like digital is deprioritized and no funding for consumer facing projects

@gj I wish I could share more but you are missing critical details on that case. There were reasons for that request you got and if you were to speak with the plaintiffs direct reports you would understand what was going on.

There are a small handful of great researchers in this org doing genuinely great work, but for some reason the LT seems to be unable to identify what good actually looks like whilst also being incapable of influencing anything of actual importance.

Also embarrassing that a VP is using the term “let’s fu--ing go” within business documents - are we on spring break here?

Why did IDSA quarterly planning give vibes of doom & gloom?

I agree with 80% of the comments on IDSA being between a rock and hard place. 1 issue not called out was constantly changing biz matrix.

The lawsuit link someone posted below- I can say that was 100% true. I was at Nike at the time and have seen how DC and GC, named in the lawsuit behaved behind doors, including their direct reports. I was told verbally not to entertain plaintiff’s request for data access and platform access.

DC is a snake.

@g0+1jwbwsy5e EXACTLY!

Changing names: 100%
Delivering real business value for Nike: 0%

@fq sorry we hit your nerve as a Distinguished Engineer who does nothing but white papers

@fb I can tell that you are not part of that org because it isn't called ED&AI anymore.

But isn’t that the f*ing role of leaders that are paid well over $500k a year?
Influence where they can to get things done, or adapt the role of your team. But instead these guys, after many years still manage to come up with super cool things we all know will never be in production, while we are not allowed to help business even do a performance readout.

cannot argue with that and I am on ED&AI...

hard to get anything done after 5 years of EW, AJ and the distinguished engineers still there pushing for irrelevant work...

but hopefully it will improve!

If these are folks at the pinnacle running (or ruining) the org, then IDSA is destined to be doomed: moguldom.com/192560/former-nike-employee-sues-for-racial-discrimination-says-he-was-paid-less-than-white-coworkers-mistreated-by-managers/

In some people’s defence, is hard to do this job when nothing gets finished from the tech or edai side. Is like trying to cook a dinner when they keep on bringing half of the ingredients

DC has been there long enough to be very much accountable for the on going issues. Not to mention he designed the org last year…

Necessary but not as a siloed and insulate and over resourced group who we-ponizes data for political favor. DC has to go.

Again, bold when anonymous. A company like Nike requires analytics. It's not perfect but it's necessary.

Think of any person who’s been VP or senior director for over 7 years on this team. With very few exceptions, they have accomplished nothing. Don’t except this to change with the same vipers leading the table.

Prior IDSA FTE who was let go during last year’s layoff.

Not worth talking about them

Heavily bloated org, changes are imminent with moves to GT for many folks but knowing current LT, I am pretty sure they will mess it up.
