Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Communication breakdown

My boss was let go. I'm actually happy to see him held accountable for being terrible at his job.

My complaint is that instead of a call or IM letting any of us know we would be reporting to someone else, leadership sends out an email to tell us, well after working hours last night, missing several of us in the process, who found out this morning during conversations with other teammates.

Great communication, team.

Were leaders really moved to ATSC? Were they CSLs? Yes, please tell us what area you work in, and if this is coming up in other departments.

To the commenter who mentioned leaders got moved to ATSC, what area of the company do you work in?

A bunch of our leaders were moved to ATSC in mass over the last month. Our team doesn't even have an assigned leader and we just go to another team's huddle every day. Other than that we don't report to anyone.

@xkk+1gNne7G7 managers have or cell numbers, they can call us on them if things are important enough, such as a change in direct manager

@xkk+1gNne7G7 well, they could have at least included everyone affected on the original email, but they failed in even that simple task.

Every place I've worked previously handled these types of things with way more transparency and way better communication. If I'm getting assigned to a new manager, I'd much rather get a phone call at 7pm than log in and open an email with those details and no heads up. It's a matter of respect. If you want me to respect you as a leader, respect me as an employee.

@fng+1gNne7G7 this is an example of the ridiculous culture at Allstate, plus these incompetent mo--ns are the ones deciding who stays and goes if there is a layoff.

Once again, what does this have to do with layoffs? There should probably be a separate site dolor whining babies to complain because they aren’t being spoon fed communications to their satisfaction. It’s really no wonder why the company has been going backwards when you consider issues like this are important to someone. Get a life skippy.

This is standard BS of Allstate. The communication is NEVER clear on anything. Just another batch of stink. There is no respect and a definite lack of decorum toward the staff that never improves because of the sick culture the have.

After hours….how do you plan to get an IM or Avaya call then? You would be whining if they called your own phone. If they didn’t send the email you would be whining you logged in and had no idea. This thread is pointless complaining over nothing.
