Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

There’ll always be cuts

Of course there will be more cuts. And then some more. And more after that. Get used to it. And get used to lying and evasion from “leadership”.

This. We all just need to accept it.

@fn Chevron has been incredibly active in lease sales but we haven’t found diddly squat. And yet somehow our entire Exploration Org is left intact. From the very top down to individual contributors. I’m sure things will turn around for us though.

@fn+1k0m5bp8p, haven't they been forecasting that for the last 20-30 years or so?

According to the US EIA (Energy Information Administration) oil production forecast, the US oil production is in the process of peaking and will start rolling over in a few years. As soon as the Middle East figures out that US oil production is maxed out and declining, the price gouging will begin. Don't know if there will be another oil bo-m like the early 80's, but it could happen. Bottom line is the US shale plays are going to peter out fairly soon and the price of oil will go up dramatically. What will be left to develop in the US after resource plays are DOA, Deep Water Wilcox? Chevron needs to dust off their deep water portfolio and get active in the lease sales. It can take 5 years or more to bring a project online.
