I’ve been working on launching a business for years, just kept putting parts of it off. But everything happening here lately put things into perspective, and I’m done playing it safe. It won’t be easy, but I’ve already wasted enough time trying to survive here. It hasn’t exactly done me any favors.

Good luck. Hope you make it. But, just do it. 75 percent of the people on this forum don’t work or have never worked for this company and don’t care so just go get yours and forget about this place.

@n2 Talented people join with excitement only to end up disappointed. Interns and new hires bring fresh, innovative ideas but are stuck with managers and directors who can’t run the business effectively or move fast enough. The result is predictable: the best people leave because Lumen is not a place where they can shine. Interns and recently converted employees keep saying the same thing. Lumen has no idea how to handle talent. They just waste it by giving them mindless work. It’s frustrating and sad.

And managers have no pension which doesn't help.

@fm what a ridiculous comment like folks are a bunch of babies and will uproot their career, families and go unemployed because of a comment I made.
I am a manger at Lumen if folks want to leave go ahead. Lumen is the one providing the paycheck and opportunity, many will line up to take the open job. In the current market every opening we post we get 2-300 resumes in less than 2 weeks and many with great qualifications

soon enough the Adaptable, self effacing, self directed, self motivated people who get things done will be gone,
what will be left behind, are those people who for one reason or another, fell into the jobs there as if it was gifted to them, And they would be completely helpless if they ever had to go out into the real world and find another job, Learn a new skill or adapt to a new normal!

Who cares about your plans, good for you. Lumen layoffs and departures make little difference because many barely do anything or do basic work someone can absorb quickly.

@OP you won’t regret it, I kept hoping for a turnaround, and yip with everything that has happened in the last 3 months… I on my last week here! I start back to school on the 25th to get some certifications so I can go to work for my self!
