Lately, I’m so drained after work that even laundry feels impossible. Weekends just mean extra sleep. Anyone else feeling like this? It’s not burnout yet, but it’s close.

a this point this fake menagerie of a planet better be a simulation - some cruel programming made this zoo so they get to watch a sitcom
reality has no business being this lame.
so burnt out.
@fj First you have to know their manager. There are only a handful of good managers at Oracle. When I tried to talk to my manager (I was also a manager) about the ability to get the work done with the people we had after reducing headcount and giving the team ten more projects which had nothing to do with our day jobs, he said I don’t care, you have to do it all). You have to know what you are working with before you approach the quest about what’s a priority.
@gs yep
@16q you can’t really ignore everything else because then the bait and switch review time and say: you should have known to do this too even if we didn’t tell you. Well I should say that does happen in at least one huge conglomerate of teams.
@fj Managers and HR don’t care. Flagging it up just draws attention and increases risk of layoff! I talk from experience. Just make sure you 100% focus on whatever your fiscal goals are and ignore everything else!
"HR is useless."
You give them too much credit.
I did all kinds of manual labor work earlier in my career, the hours were long, exhausting and tough. That doesn’t mean working at a desk all day isn’t tough too. There’s pros and cons to both and too much of either can lead to burnout. Working at a desk for Oracle has done far more damage to my health than a few years of hard work outside in the cold ever did.
Most oracle employees work 20 hours a week and the other 20 is waiting for work and acting busy. Most people would never make it in trades or even standing for more than an hour. I’m a former O. Never saw people create more work or reason for validation in my life. Esp mgmt. those people….useless

HR is useless. Anyways give it a try.
Your situation may be created on purpose so either you leave or they fire you later based on performance. That's the trend in many orgs in US to reduce cost.
I've been in that boat. Prioritize and communicate with your manager what you cannot manage within a reasonable workday. Your manager needs to know you have too much on your plate. As a manager, they should respect and understand and support you. They may be experiencing similar. If they are not respectful, discuss with HR. It is your responsibility to know what you can and cannot handle and act accordingly.
It is burn out!
Hold on, they may let you go!
I guess you don't work from home, or you could squeeze in the laundry while you work!
Try doing a job where you actually aren't on your butt all day and call me. stop whining.
Same here! I'm burned out, and with being the new FY and management pressuring us to add more and more to our plate without approving OT. I'm completely burned out.
Sounds like you should call EAP.
