Because the back is deteriorating from inner rot. They all have that lovely Trump-like attitude now.
The TOS managers of managers buffer upper management from taking responsibility for anything. Without the managers of managers, upper management might have to plug in and understand how the bank works and what the true roadblocks are.

It boggles my mind why they would keep Dilip around. Useless and almost vacant shell, not even human. Again I will said the same about Elfio and others.

The lifer, front line, TOS workers are incredibly dedicated, low paid, taken advantage of, beaten down employees. All of them are looking for their first exit ramp from the incredibly poor management team.
Dilip is a terrible manager and even worse boss. He manages up which is typical of McKinsey folks.
I'm familiar with 'spreadsheet solutions'. Let's put tasks on a spreadsheet then ask how long it takes you to do each task. I remember once working during the day starting before 9am but I didn't do a 'trackable' task until after 2pm. People are not boxes on a spreadsheet!
Maybe that explains why U.S. Bank fails at fulfilling its basic obligations. Things like getting equipment to new hires in timely manner and paying its bills.

The backbone of their systems are an 80s vintage system that been hacked on for decades. Impossible to test any change appropriately. No design or coding standards. Its a complete mess. Bringing in the Indians for the last decade hasn't made anything better.

I have no inside knowledge and am a low level employee in TOS but I would say Dilip has to be on thin ice.

Exactly! When Elon laid off 50% of Twitter's workforce or when Zuck ran the year of efficiency, it was mostly these deadweights. Cutting middle management (manager of managers) is ALWAYS a good thing.
@fhz+1uGQcR16 Ian resigned as he had a job lined up at SoFI. Even Dilip sounded surprised in that email announcement so I'd say Ian played his cards VERY well.
Madhu and Vijay OTOH got fired. The power dynamic is easy to read in Dilip's emails.
