Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Corporate Product Stewardship cut 7 folks, they turned in their laptops and badges the last day in February. Officially on the payroll through March, their severances packages effective April 1st, so their 3M separation date was March 31st. So sad...some of the roles they cut are NOT replaceable, that institutional knowledge vital to the company but leadership does NOT care - most execs and directors now come from outside the company and don't have a clue how complex 3M is, nor do they care. I retired from 3M in 2023 and SO glad to be out of that mess. I left several years sooner than planned but the TOXICITY became unbearable. Stress affecting my physical and mental health. My heart goes out to younger peers, not a good job market with this corrupt Presidential Administration ruining our country and our democracy. God Bless us All.

There is layoff exercise right now. I just heard of APAc TEBG colleagues got the letter. Last day 31 March. These cuts are getting more frequent

@ff I'm not so sure the Smurph left voluntarily.

Exiting at the end of the quarter and before his options vest doesn't say "his choice" to me.

I think BB is methodically creating vacancies so he can replace leaders with his own hand-picked lackeys. (Not that these two were any good.)

Smurph knows that outsourcing security and compliance is going to get 3M sued for data breach, and he doesn't want to be holding the bag.

So the Smurf implements garbage vendor plans for deep cuts and bails before the 3M people all get notified?

Looks like Mark Murphy is the first one to go in April.
