I haven’t felt like we’re building toward anything in ages. It’s all maintenance mode, at best. I’d almost welcome being put out of my misery if the job market weren’t so bleak. No real options out there, so we’re all just stuck. The worst feeling is fearing the loss of a job you don’t like at a company you can’t stand, simply because there’s nowhere else to go right now.

When I applied to work remotely in 2021, HR said I wouldn't be eligible for any raises - not even for merit. No wonder remote workers don't go above and beyond. What a poorly thought out policy. Then again, what else would you expect from TD HR?
@nt You're right about remote people not working. Just look at SM who hides away on the other side of the country. There is one cut right there that can be made to save the company some money and starve off bankruptcy for a few days
@nt Remote people don’t do work? OK, Boomer.
@ne link to your source? Teradata has not touched anyone in San Diego. Remote people yes but they don't really do work
@fs That is some real cra$k smoking thinking if you think TD is up there with Amazon. Even the SD chamber of commerce noted the fact that TD has been reducing their headcount over the past several years.
@fs Comparing Teradata to Amazon? Hahahahahaha. I guess all the folks being laid off should simply move to San Diego. Problem solved!
@ff Teradata doesn't work against you any more than any other company in fact it's looked upon as a bigger name player in San Diego. I view Teradata as being up there with Qualcomm, Intuit, or Amazon. There's a lot of good tech here and Teradata is one of the biggest companies around in SD
@d2 He can’t tell you. It’s super-duper double-secret. Just trust him.
Just look at some of the people let go. They've been unemployed for many months. Putting teradata on your resume instantly turns off potential employers
@e6 Being super-engineer at Teradata is not worth putting on a résumé.
If super-engineer was smart then he would be building an updated resume.
@ac then tell us, super-engineer. What stuff are you building ?
@ac I can see why OP feels lack of support when I read responses like yours. So much for camaraderie. Maybe when they show you the door, you will remember what you are and how you acted.
I build stuff every single day. You get maintenance work because you're a slacker that cannot be trusted with anything of value that's delivered to the customer. If you got off this forum and started doing your job, maybe you wouldn't need to worry about losing your job. If you hate it here go deal with the consequences like a grown up.
I swear everyone on this board needs to get their acts together
