Nothing happening this week or next, company is moving forward preparing for kick off , no layoffs

@g8 it depends on structure.
From the one layoff my dept had:
Director & HR were there w/ management informed of it and prepared to walk them out. While it may not be proper I don't think there's anything stopping someone higher from doing it. They just need HR, IT to handle access, and someone who can say you're laid off.
@fe It would not be today since that's year end.
There is a chance US happens between tomorrow and Friday with some Canadians let go after Canadian day.
It could be given couple extra weeks as well. Definitely not happening today. I do not have tea to know if it's happening, but it's not impossible once things calm down.
@c9 I don't know. I had a status call with my manager today, utterly normal. Both my manager and director are out until Monday. So if it's this week the VP will have to do it, or HR alone, which would be diabolical. Don't know what to think about that other than maybe my small team will be spared. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if it were the VP lopping off skulls. Wasn't it the deal that it's HR and your manager that bring the ill tidings?
@f2 but if a layoff happens, it would be across different locations. Usually it is before a holiday, so could be today or Thu since 01-Jul is a day off in Canada and 03-Jul is a day off in the US
@dv There are HR people in the US...
@c9 Wednesday is day off in Canada
Hot take but comments like @b4 are unbelievably hilarious. The fact they get downvoted into oblivion is even funnier.
OpenText doesn’t employ those that can take a good joke!
It’s happening. HR Management meeting took place last week. My guess is tomorrow or Wednesday.
@ay agreed and confirmed 100%. We are all systems go and need all our people for the new customers
Dilusional post OP, but nice try.
@ah agreed. This site would be much busier if a thousand layoffs were happening this week
So yeah, nothing will happen
