Reports from this week (March 23–24) indicate that the cuts are not just hitting entry-level staff. The restructuring is specifically targeting:
• Senior Analysts and Team Leads: Multiple reports from the Waterloo and U.S. offices mention that long-tenured leads and senior-level individual contributors were let go in "8-minute" termination meetings.
• Product Management: There are indications of "flattening" within product groups, where middle-management layers are being removed to speed up decision-making for their AI Cloud products.

The fog wasn’t just rolling in from the San Francisco Bay; it was settling over Paul’s desk in San Mateo. As the CCO of a global software mess, Paul wasn't dealing with a weather pattern, he was dealing with "The Sprawl” of unconnected software deployments across many disgruntled customers.

But no, not happening - OT can never admit we f
ck up or are not optimized. We'll just lay them off and blame agentic ai attempts later.

Just keep paying for air, and pray you don't actually ever need help or else you risk needing to pay more.

@gm renewals can be automated to have no human touch by employees or customers. That’s the future. We are way behind and just make people do more with less telling upper management it’s Ai or has been automated. Ask any employee how many disconnected systems they need to work in to get their job done. It’s total chaos.

@fe At least partially. Places like finance or Renewals you have to look at the new automation very carefully. Some of that may not necessarily be due to AI.

The product management cuts so far don't seem to be. Some of these cuts seem to be from engineering/code-based jobs. If the vibe coding session someone posted is real - those would absolutely count.

The Board of Directors who allowed Mark to steer the ship right into an iceberg. They watched him for well over a decade and did nothing but collect hefty compensation for literally almost no work. I worked in Tech for decades..literally the worst Board and C-Suite that the Tech Industry has ever seen. Fire THEM!
