A ton of people let go in US

Our entire staff was let go yesterday except me and one other guy. Ironically both me and the other guy were actively job searching and both of us got offers this week. So we are leaving too. I felt bad giving my two weeks after the entire department was depleted but it’s not like I knew it was going to happen. Not sure what my boss is going to do…

He’s pretty disgruntled. Executive team is actively hated by us all.

Yes we are client facing. And yes we were
all busy with projects. I think it was just cost cutting layoffs.

Yes my mother told me to be polite but also told me not to take any sh-t from anyone. We have been lied to about merit increases the executives all hit big money and we get sh-t

When they decided to let the whole team go, except 2 of you.. what was everyone working on? I mean, were they scratching around looking for something to do? Or actually busy working on projects!? How they expecting any work to get done if they lay off a whole team!

I know they need to cut down amount of people.. but just sounds ridiculous to cut so many from 1 unit! --- unless you were a small team anyway...

Plus nothing this company does surprises me!

@aft+1ii5eh2J - Yes, we are training the people, giving opportunities to people and regions which are competitive and have resources of high tech standards.

Obviously, by the language on your post, we know that you are not the brightest cookie in the jar. Our current process of culling will take care of you.

We need people who support us in the journey of transformation. Either you are with us or against us. There is no grey area. Hope this explains and by the didn't your mother teach you to be polite when posting / talking in public
