Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Presidents cabinet / Diamond club …..

Makes me sick go go on LinkedIn .... and seeing sad-sack Verizon RIF victims “open to work” and not even able to get a G D interview …. intertwined with Verizon execs “Proud to have achieved Diamond Club in the 2025 Verizon Business Group Recognition Program” “Verizon is so good to me” “ Honored and thankful to be a 2025 Diamond 💎 Club Award winner with Verizon Business 🙌” ugh. Just ugh. Would be nice to have a g d job k thx.

What we lack in width, we exceed in depth. Our strength isn’t in size, but in the depth of commitment, knowledge, and experience.

The Pike Effect
A pike fish can stop hunting after hitting a clear barrier too many times. Even when the barrier is removed, it may still refuse to chase prey and can starve with food all around it. That is the Pike Effect, and it shows up in leadership more than we want to admit.
We have all seen capable employees stop speaking up after being ignored, criticized, or reprimanded. Later, leadership asks for feedback, but the room is silent. The wall may be gone, but the habit it created remains
Open communication is how you prevent that silence from taking root. Leaders have to make it safe to share ideas, ask questions, and raise concerns without fear of embarrassment or punishment. When people see that input leads to action, even a small action, they start trusting the space again.

No pity here. You swim with sharks. What did you expect? You just weren't shark enough.

This rings a bell a while ago after a large rif. I noticed some of the people who received those award plaques and trophies actually left them in their cubes/offices when they departed. Proudly displayed for everyone to see how cutthroat the culture has become. Whenever an exec says we're all family here, remain silent and update your resume.

These are not either / or. I saw a self-congratulatory president’s club post from a person who had the #opentowork banner around their profile pic!

Funny on the Piblic Sector side because most of the team got RIFFed. Who wants to go to Paris with them? Hard pass

It makes one laugh this whining! You're a pirate complaining you got by the other buccaneers. As if it is a new concept that there is no honor among thieves. LOL

Most people on LinkedIn who are open to work most likely havent found a job yet, but some are open to work even if they have job also. They might be lookin for a better opportunity or extra work.

They're all tone deaf, in the end companies and so-called "work friends" don't give a shi$ about others. Some of them even thank people who've been laid off, like that's gonna help or actually mean something.

Absolutely zero class.
