Mobile phone - Intune now tracking your location

Might as well leave your phone as well together with your laptop.

@fa my faraday pouch blocks all signals. Are you restarted?

@e6 iPhones transmit low-level Bluetooth signals even when powered down. This allows the phone to broadcast anonymous Bluetooth beacons to the Apple Find My network. Nearby Apple devices (like other iPhones or iPads) pick up these pings and relay the phone's location to iCloud. Maybe learn something

Intune now tracking your location

No it doesn't. Intune requires a phone be placed into lost mode before location tracking can be enabled.

COU doesn't use Intune, they use tower triangulation to get a rough idea of where you are.

I always place my phone and laptop in a faraday pouch at 2PM each day when I pack up after my 8 is done.

@cr powering down your
Phone does not prevent tracking . The phones send a continuous Bluetooth signal even when powered down.

Simply turn it off any time you’re not in the office. When your 8 hours is up then you power down.

That’s really nothing new. They have had software for years where they could track your movements and discreet, listening through Microsoft teams, meaning that they can listen in to you and your surroundings at any time and also listen to your teams, meetings and or calls. The problem is, the corporate policy still states that if you are monitored that way, your manager must provide results of said monitoring right after they do it. And that has not been happening. and before anybody asks- Yes, it happens to managers as well.

I don't have a COU phone so don't care. Even if I did, I'd just leave it in the office 24x7.

Right time.
Right place.
Right duration.

Why worry if meeting this basic criteria?
