Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Lives changing

Lots of people are relocating to hubs in two months. Not sure what is the company direction after that. May be July another wave might come to relocate who’s left or just BAU for everyone else. Who knows?

“The rest of employees get fired if they don't move.”
Needs of the at will business.

CSO opened a Charlotte hub so the newly hired VPs and above don't have to move. The rest of employees get fired if they don't move.

“My former Atlanta job is being backfilled only in Dallas. Same with my former teammates who got surplussed. We were all under Legg.”

Does Dallas have more time sitting in my car than Atlanta? Trying to decide where I want less road rage on my daily commute. I’m not one of the VPs and above who can afford both a home to see my children and an apartment in the city.

“Atlanta’s days are numbered also. Idk why people would move there. They are already shifting jobs out of Atlanta to Dallas. Every backfill has to go to Dallas or be justified why it’s in Atlanta.”

100 Percent False!
They yanked jobs away from everyone and moved them to Atlanta for the DEI backfills.
They will not be taking those un-earned jobs away from DEI hires and moving them to Dallas, I have never heard of something so stupid. That clown we have leading the charge here in Atlanta voted for Harris after all.

And how would you know?

“No $hit. I called this out on DAY1. Move peoples jobs to Atlanta to rip the job from their hands so they can give it away to DEI in Atlanta and reach their racist goals. Never fooled me.”

You’re not that smart. Everyone knew it. We just didn’t care. We welcome diversity at all costs.

Don’t kid yourself. The Dallas and Atlanta market allows this company to quietly achieve diversity numbers without being public about it. Just look at the demographics of each city.

T will just stretch and drag the dates stressing those individuals providing a sense of insecurity & encourage them to quit

Similar to Detroit, Camden, Memphis, East Saint Louis & NOLA. Your comment is spot on.

If you moved to a hub for this company you deserve what you get. You were warned.

I can’t even fathom how low your iq must be to make that poor of a decision.

"Even if you move to a hub you are not safe from a layoff.

Stop this nonsense."

It is nonsense that it happens. I have seen it happen in multiple years and waves. I have seen the move list and layoff list, and there were several on both lists. AT&T did not have the decency to inform the folks that they were on both lists, and allowed them to move.

The crazy is Atlanta that's still on 3-days a week for most groups, but looks to go to 5-days for all mid-June AND another huge influx of people reporting for the first time June 30th.

Continued layoffs. Even if you move to a hub you are not safe from a layoff. Don't purchase a residence, rent only.
