Managers are already being asked to reduce their teams and draft the names. Be prepared.

@f7h Yep! Your Director or Manager will put a meeting request on your calendar asking you not to miss it. When you log into the meeting a stranger and your boss will be on the meeting. You’ll soon realize it’s the kiss of death when you boss announces the stranger is from HR. Your boss will then proceed to read from a script that you are being let go. So cowardly IMO.
I work in CBH and our new CIO was let go effective last week. Anyone have any news? Should we in CBH be worried ?
Those that were rifed did you receive a meeting via teams?
Joined in February 2023 . Last day is supposed to be 2/28/2025. It hurts .i think my role got eliminated across board in Clinical but it’s weird they’re hiring for some new positions .
Someone explain to me how we chose to RIF BH. BEHAVIORAL HEALTH in a time of unprecedented crisis internally and externally.
The need for BH is constant and increasing. Does anyone with actual humanity participate in RIF Rummy?
Please put Spark in charge of RIFs and RIF anyone already involved. Think of the savings. I bet Spark would say "needs improvement" for the whole area so cut them now. Its not too late for Q1 term dates. Too bad they'll have no one in BH to talk to about it. Sad.
Spark already writes all the comms so maybe them too. And definitely the leaders. I'd listen to Spark read from a script any day. Spark doesn't need empathy training, ironically. Feels more humane.
Mon 2/27/25 St Louis office Behavioral health - after hours crisis line, 24yrs in the company and our dept has been dismantled. I was an UMRII rep. They kept 4 or 5 Clinical staff that will be sent to another dept/state. Our managers were also let go. We were all invited to a mandatory meeting via teams, and I knew as soon as HR was introduced it was game over. A lot of work is being sent to AI. Needless to say we are all a bit salty. Last day is 2/28/25
My whole department was laid off last week. Our last day is Feb 28th. I have been with the company 20 yeas and my 2nd lay off. It's really upsetting to all of us.
Today 2.28 i know of one team that lost over 75 percent..another that lost 7 out of 17..and another team that lost over 75 percent on behavioral health..uncertain of medical
Already happened today multiple teams obliterated by over 60 percent
The (I use THE and not MINE). Our entire team was to be a “lift and shift” to Carelon. November or so of this 2024, the manager separated our teams into 2 meetings before this change. The manager states some would move to Carelon, some would not. The meeting I was on that consisted of all brown employees was moved to Carelon. All the other employees on the team ( not brown) would be staying with Health Solutions. Why was this ?
Does anyone know if this applies to Carlin Behavioral Health?
Hope the layoffs include some of those useless staff vps!
ITT people who dont know what middle management is
Don't include me.....please!! I want to keep my job! I am on a good team and like my job very much!
Simply put your name on your post … I’m sure someone will be watching
Wish I knew what to say or do to be included in Jan rif
I wish they’d take me. I’d be welcome a layoff after a couple dozen years. Too bad they don’t offer buyouts.
This is how the leadership and board should know they royally sc--wed up the name change to begin with.
Elevance is just a holding company name. It really only provides corp services. It's Meta or Alphabet. Most people don't know what those are. Same with Elevance.
Carelon is a brand/company under Elevance. So is Anthem. Carelon would be like Facebook. Anthem is Instagram. Stand alone but not really at this point. No part of our flywheel flies itself.
Carelon will likely outnumber elevance proper and anthem in headcount, but it won't "take over" elevance. Try not to worry about what technical "company" in the elevance umbrella you work for and focus on making sure it's under a leader you want to work for.
The domain means nothing at this point. Neither company can exist without the other so it truly is the same thing. The name doesn't matter.
Does this affect employees at Carelon Behavioral Health also?
Thanks.
Hope you’re right, @apq
I certainly hope some of the do-nothing middle management layer is included in the rifs in 2025. Some of the fat at that layer is just ridiculous at this company!
Wow! Getting RIF'd in January is a great way to start the new year.
Don't be surprised if there is another company name change by this time next year from Elevance to Carelon. There will be more employees under the Carelon name than Elevance. Sad and ridiculous.
Carelon isn’t any better we have been asked to reduce our teams and is what positions can be offshored as well. The plan is to migrate and then reduce/layoff to send jobs international.
Not sure about Layoffs but a lot of health solutions folks are going to carelon effective Jan1st. I'm hoping it's related to this.
