Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Completely over it after four years

Four years here is what it took for me to be done. The toll this place takes isn’t worth the paycheck anymore. I dread logging in every single day, and I can’t imagine ever feeling any different. The whole system is built to grind people down until they finally break, and I guess I did.

@f5 I have to spend 2 to 3 times more of my time training them on basic skills versus a person hired on merits. HR has quotas for use leaders to fill these spots. They have our org with demographics, then let us know 12 to 18 months later if we've made 'pRoGrEsS'. When you press HR that it's a quota, it creates 'coaching opportunities' for my VP to talk to me.

How are ESG and DEI to blame for the broken culture?

When did your doubts start for you? For me it was 3 months in! Should have left then.

Bank aml.

Stinks.

Most of the time you are tryint to figure out what the heck these alerts were referred for cause they dont know what money laundering is.

Hey if it is alot of work, jist escalate it and someone else will figure it out rather than learning aml and understanding basic personal banking activities…

Honestly bank used to su-k. Now we do nothing. There’s nothing to do other than wait for the day that your laid off. It’s an easy gig.

Do you work in Bank? That’s easily the worst place to work. The culture is ki-l or be ki-led… at a bank. They swear they’re all hardcore military members pretending to be heavy duty manager.

You are not alone and we have seen people do same day resignations citing mental health issues because of USAAs broken culture (I blame ESG & DEI) and I hope you find your next place to be on stable ground where you feel appreciated.
