If that’s true, our analysts are as bad as political pollsters. That means they were off by a mile for 2025. And that’s without knowing whether or not the subsidies will be extended (they won’t). Ambetter enrollment is going to plummet, only leaving the expensive members remaining. I’m feeling like a lot of people are about to get the RIF treatment.

Wasn’t that always the goal of the current administration…political
@f3 well said.
@f3 Usually people trying to get paid through a job try to do a good one so they can continue to get paid. If these analysts couldn’t see that Trump would do just this, they weren’t paying attention. They should have planned for the worst and hoped for the best. It seems they planned for the best to keep stock prices elevated.
To be fair, all the companies in this space have had similar results. Everyones just out to get a paycheck so no one calculated for political changes, adverse selection, and healthy members opting out. The system is flawed by design to force us to cover the unhealthiest individuals at below their expected loss since they couldnt afford the premiums otherwise and relies on subsidies and heakthy members paying more than expected value. Take away subsidies and the penalty for being uninsured and you get this.
