Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Anyone rehired at Elevance after being laid off lately? Are all positions on hold or just feels like they are?

I was rehired but I applied to about 45 jobs internally getting almost instant rejection on most of them. It is just the world we’re living in. Like one poster stated, many of the jobs you see are already earmarked for someone. It’s stupid that they even post a job where they already know who’s gonna be filling it. When firs anything this company does make sense?

Many positions are posted specifically with a person in mind. If person is going to be promoted but their current job title and job title of promotion aren’t “linked”, then they post a position that is meant for only one person. That person applies and gets promoted. It’s so d-mb. So much red tape to just promote a person who is deserving. Just another example of how inefficient this company is. Also gives this false impression that company is growing when it isn’t. Job seekers waste time applying to something that isn’t real. D-mb.

A nurse with a PHD has NEVER in my entire life been compensated - it means NOTHING - no compensation, no respect, NOTHING

@ez Another way to look at it is that they are going to get people with PHD that can’t cut it in their field and settled for a position at EH. They won’t be stellar performers. People without the PHD that are go getters and will be asset to the company will no longer be considered. EH just wants to tout how many people with PHD they have working here. Performance won’t matter. No wonder this company is tanking.

I’ve been amazed at the number of senior consultant roles where they want people with PHD. If I had a PHD I would think I could make more money that the MRP is for senior consultant. They want to pay over qualified people sh---y pay for their education

Should say if you don’t meet even just one of the required or preferred qualifications on the job description, your resume isn’t making it to the manager. Basically you have to check every box to make it to an interview.

They want overqualified people in jobs that pay less and they can do this because they can. They have riffed so many people that most job postings are getting applicants with more qualifications than the job entails. So if you don’t meet any of the required or preferred job qualifications or specified pulse points, you are not even going to get an interview because your resume isn’t making it to the manager.

I know someone who was rehired but in a different capacity after he had been laid off a few months ago. He doesn't believe there will be a RTO.
