I am a ME.
I hate what this company has become.
@dt Within a day of that Activate event, there were more long tenure employees booted out the door.
I wish the local press would properly dig into that, rather then regurgitate company PR pieces. It’s schizophrenic to be hyping it as an amazing place to work, whilst canning the employees who helped establish & build it.
"Redefining Workplace Culture"
Do they really believe their own hype?
@ew I’m not an ME or an engineer for that matter. But this behaviour is consistent with the ME I work most closely with. If you peak behind the curtain…you realise that folks at the Lead level and above are more clueless than any of us. It’s scary frankly but those are the guys making the decisions.
I'd say ANI pretty much wrote that article themselves. Sync NI aren't an independent news outlet, they're a PR front for the local IT industry judging by their "about" page.

McKeown's the biggest gaslighter out there. Fair point about the ME's though, mine's the same "we must have 1 on 1s" 2/3 of the time I get a "Sorry I can't make it today", so those 1 on 1s aren't for anything useful they're another box to be ticked.
Bit rich of McKeown to talk about human connection when Allstate is built on just following orders and doing whatever Kunal or Zufli dictates. I never talk to my ME - he's remote and always too busy to have 1 on 1's that are scheduled but cancelled at the last minute. Last year my end of year score was arbitrarily decided by some C-suite guy about 4 levels above me despite spending hours on writing up "evidence" for a good yearly performance.
I enjoyed Activate, but I see zero change in culture or connection before or after the (mandatory) event.
