Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

International offices

Wondering if anyone has any insight into the process of international layoffs? Would each HR dept be given a budget/number of people to let go? Or would decisions already be made from up top in the US on departments to lay off etc?

Layoffs are happening in international. It just takes longer with unions etc. I’ve heard whole teams are leaving in France and some have gone/going in South America. It’s only time until UK and AUS are hit too.

@jx Millions and millions wasted to make their bosses in the USA even richer

@jf Same thing in London, Berlin and Warsaw. If they got rid of all those useless layers of VPs/SVPs/Directors reporting into each other, going on pointless trips and getting nothing done all day long other than a couple of silly powerpoint slides spreading falsehoods to US management... well, the company could really save a lot of cash. And perhaps be left with the ones that actually get stuff done and actually know what they're doing.

@ew An exact portrait of the Amsterdam office. Glad to be gone. I hope my good, honest colleagues, the ones who get the job done, can stay.

Kind of sad no one has responded yet. International side of the business has been overlooked, ignored and is an after-thought - which is why it’s so poorly run.

They should start with the SVPs, VPs, Exec. Finance Directors, and Directors doing nothing all day long. That's why we're where we are.
