Rumors of May unfolding.

What is the status of May? Will there be layoffs or only the results of VSP?
@w3 That's true...but it all starts at the top...ELT performance over the last 8-10 years has been abysmal.
@td Hahaha. With people of this caliber as employees, no wonder the company is in trouble.
most of the people getting canned are either way overpaid and underdelivering or simlply add no value.. Plenty more dead wood to cut off.
Super-engineer is back and ready to save the company single-handedly! Thank god for sycophants.
@kz Productive? Useful? HA! If you were doing your job then the company might be in a better position instead of being on life support living on their past glory years.
Companies periodically need to get rid of deadwood there's nothing to worry about really if you are doing your work and are being productive and useful :)
May? Not April? Are we sure? Can we get an official denial from HR turned engineer turned bottle opener?
@es When 9/10s of the decisions are based on the messaging that goes to "the street" rather than what works for the customers or the business, you know they're in a hard place.
It's the only way they can balance the books. No new customers and declining revenue means they have to continually remove employees. It's a zero sum game which leads to buggy products, no innovation and poor customer satisfaction. Rinse and repeat until next time they go back to the well to find the well has run dry.
@az Why bother? Nothing to market.
What rumours? CMO restaffed?
I don't know if i can wait until May.
@OP Probably so they can layer the layoffs with the VSPs so they can try to put a positive twist on it for the street.
The only surprise there is they are waiting to May (vs. doing it in April). Remember layoffs/RIFs is the only play in the Teradata playbook.
