Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

What exactly does Sandy do?

Apart from reading off her AI generated slide shows with cartoon characters?

Everyone else has informative slides and are not reading off their slides, they're providing more depth to the information provided and showcasing how they're leading (or attempting to do literally anything). And then we have Sandy reading off her badly formatted slideshow that she pretends took a week to make when in reality it took ChatGPT all of 10 seconds to make.

Is she like an executive cheerleader? Like honestly.

Now that Mark got kicked out the door there's nobody to protect her role, she's probably in line to get fired and replaced with a person who actually does something.

@ps I'm no manager, csuite, etc - but you either get those results via voluntary efforts (which need morale to remain voluntary) or pure exploitation.

Even if most other companies go back to 'hardcore' cultute our best will be able to shop around it. Take away benefits, force 40 hours in office, force AI with only cuts in mind, and pause/reduce merit increases yeah - you're probably not getting those results. You'll be trying to bleed a stone to make up for the high-performers that just left.

And if word gets out thay your dept does that good luck hiring, folks do tend to talk :p

I don't care about the morale too much, as long as the leadership acts within the legal boundaries.
What I do care about is results.
Does the company make a sustainable profit?
All other metrics are only means to the matter.
If the CEO make $150m then I don't care as long as I'm well paid (to my local market) and the share price increases over time because I buy throuh the ESPP and my job is (somewhat) secure.

@ne I agree 100%. There are so many posts of people saying there was nothing wrong with mark or the ELT. It is insulting our intelligence.

We need to get these people to agree with us, just like Mark forced others to agree with him

Come on everyone we can do this!

I can't believe some folks still think there were nothing wrong with how Mark and ELT ran OT. Even the board finally acknowledge there is a problem and we need a change.
If you support and still supporting Mark and the ELT, why haven't you highlighted all the problems and the lack of morale that you read here instead of quietly agreeing with Mark and ELT.
OT is finally going to change. The change could be worse or better but it's needed if OT name is going to exists in 5 years time. HP went through the same issue via a series of bad CEOs. Now it's chopped up, smaller but at least the name HP still exists.

@n7 no problem. But first tell us your name so that the world can judge you as well. nope, can’t come out into the sunlight can you. keep casting stones; it’s easy when you can cowardly hide on an anonymous forum. maybe OTs biggest challenge is the negative and ill will from people like you. now say 5 nice things about someone, other than yourself. lol such a joke.

LOOOOL this thread is hilarious. none of you have any clue what you’re talking about. I’m sure you would be amazing in her role. It’s a shame you are too busy spewing hate and rumors everywhere and don’t have the time to be the CMO and show us all how easy it is. Thank you for gracing us with your supreme wisdom and insight. You clearly failed in your own career. Ba bye!

McGourlay was reading off notes as well. He does not have CEO energy or charisma

I think Sandy’s just a loyal follower, clinging to this job. All she does is nod along to Mark, play his game, follow his orders, say what he wants to hear, and do what he likes. As for competence? Just take a look at those AI-symbolizing virtual critters, they all come off like total dimwits.

My understanding is Sandy is in the chopping block. Sandy and Todd Cione have failed to perform as similarly as Mark B. Also, the new permanent CEO has already been identified. This search had been going for months. You will note on the all hands today the board member was eager to underscore this will be a short lived period, that the new CEO will be in place shortly.

As part of that announcement to the Street, it is imperative that others tied to Mark whose very roles (failure at those roles) contributed to the exponentially failure to thrive of the business, are announced as exiting the business at the same time the .
