Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Who will be the next CEO?

It’s clear EH isn’t the one. Who will be next? Will it be our goddess and savior CS per chance?

@ct Totally agree. CS would be a disaster…

I never thought I’d say this but hopefully someone from the outside with no prior Nike experience. Although experience in consumer products would be nice unlike that last guy…

Nike is rotten from the core. We need someone to come in and completely shake things up starting with the ELT. How do the same people manage to keep their jobs as the world crumbles beneath them?

@er

well corpo america is famous for bringing in a girlboss for failing enterprises as men who have more choices for C-suit are usually unwilling to helm a sinking ship

So many simps here who should put their money where their mouth is… There is an index fund that only invests in companies run by women CEOs. Since its inception, it has underperformed the broader market.

This would seem to indicate it's more likely Nike would go for a female CEO next https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1467-8551.2005.00433.x

The study revealed that during a period of overall stock-market decline those companies who appointed women to their boards were more likely to have experienced consistently bad performance in the preceding five months than those who appointed men.

@dg The biggest issues with women CEOs is statistically most of them leave the positions a lot sooner than male CEOs. They aren't worse or better, but they are less tenured. https://corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2025/06/04/why-women-ceos-leave-sooner-and-how-boards-can-help-all-ceos-thrive/

Accenture (julie small) is in the shitters. Money people care about money, if gender played the role all ceos would be women. I am not denying centuries of patriarchy, but we had Fortune 500 female ceos since early 70s and there is no correlation between gender and performance

Honestly, it shouldn’t be anyone from the inside at this point. The execs in place now are most in need of a serious clean up and ship out.

A female CEO. It's about time. Just look at all the other companies with successful female CEOs.

Anyone but CS. She’s toxic and only out for her own success, with no respect for the team around her. She grinds people into the ground while using them as stepping stones to get herself higher.

I think the next CEO should be an ETW. I've heard it's much easier to get rid of them that way.
