Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Voice+ Survey, then lay offs? Has anyone heard anything?

Last year, there was a big push in EVDD to get our Voice+ surveys done early. They were aiming for 100% participation, almost making it feel like a fun competition between orgs. We all want our team to shine with the highest participation so many submitted early as requested

But looking back, it’s interesting to note that layoffs happened right before the survey deadline. It was obvious they wanted to gather all the positive feedback before they cut headcount. May 13 was the layoff date last year. I heard the Voice+ survey will open on April 14 this year. Not sure on the deadline though.

We have a new executive…he’s not just going to keep things as they are. He will want change. Are they tracking to do the same this year. Interested to hear if anyone heard anything.

@em+1kk95swgz Ergo the push for 100% participation. Lack of participation is considered a statement in and of itself. Some LL6 schedule mandatory meetings where the agenda is everyone doing the survey in the meeting. You can’t leave until you complete the survey.
You may think opting out is keeping you safe, but that is a collected data point.

Grandma always used to tell me, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, you’re probably a nasty person”. So I just opt out.

It's tough to give good ratings when you are told to RTO and have to decide where to sit all day at a workstation. The only collaboration I've done is either through e-mails or chats.

Just opt out of the survey

@b0
Yep, happened to me too. I used to falsely give very good ratings, and last year I was truthful for once, and bo-m, I was let go too.

@bb I saw a person being hunted down because a subgroup had low rating. This was an LL6. It became a full blown HR investigation. This person was then stripped off all his responsibility, put on a pseudo project and eventually he was let go due to poor performance. Note: I called it pseudo project as it was a shadow of his prior responsibility with a lot of busy work and no clear path and no direct reports: fully designed to justify poor performance.

IF YOU SELECT NEUTRAL IT IS THE SAME AS A 1 STAR RATING. GIVE A FEW EXTRA NEUTRAL RATINGS!!! This makes my management very mad how the survey is received. My LL5 had a poor score, can't figure out why.

@b0
Was this during the annual review where you provide feedback or on the specific yearly survey? Yeah, it's not 100% anonymous. IF YOU SELECT NEUTRAL IT IS TUE SAME AS A 1.

The surveys are never 100% anonymous. Don't ever forget that. While your manager may not know exactly who wrote what, they can figure it out, especially if it's a small group

I learned that if you give an honest review for your manager, you get laid off the fastest way possible. For years prior to that I lied about how great management was even though they were not anything to brag about. Finally, I had the ba--s to give it an honest review, and bam, gone. 10 years wasted. 2nd kid on the way and a father who passed the month prior, and they kicked me out like a wet dog. That place can burn down into the ground for all I care.

The participation is all about management bonuses. Just look at their objectives.
