is there an early retirement option available in this round of layoffs?
Our team is safe this round. I believe there will be another round of layoffs when AI is trained to take over customer service roles and back office jobs. This shift to AI is going to backfire with regards the the human experience customers have come to expect. The issues sellers call about will be difficult for AI to resolve as the issues are vast and not cookie cutter answers.
@d6 what team were you? I’m in Ireland and haven’t heard anything about roles being moved over

@OP - Half the Austin and San Jose Office will be cleaned out. CSTech all moved and PMO completely wiped out
What they didn't tell everyone is that 50% of the Alternate work force is also being let go on Friday 2/28. The real black Friday. eBay hurting and families will be hurting. This is not due to AI, but poor management.
Half my team including myself laid off..moving out roles to india and Ireland. I think by now those impacted are aware.
@ct no but service readiness, who played a massive role in eBay live, has been pulled apart. The actual eBay live team look to be safe. Layoffs still ongoing in the US.

@am they do this d-mb thing where they announce layoffs, spend the whole day telling people they're laid off, then after a whole day of sitting in limbo they send an email saying you're not laid off. D-mbest thing I've seen. Half my team knows they're not laid off, the other half is currently still freaking out that we're losing our job and health insurance
It would be nice to know one way or the other. Does anyone know if everyone affected will be told today 2/25?

Usually, since Covid you receive an invite to zoom meeting with HR rep (you have to go back home)
We had a meeting stating we had not been impacted. I guess you ll get a meeting too.
