Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

London Calling Part 2

No mention of layoffs, right-sizing, RIFS, or reorganizing - but I still feel like they are coming on the DL.

Meaningless video. There was no sense of positivity, no real specifics on approach, no sense of anything that shows progress. Honestly it would have been better to not even post it.

@fh We don't need to lick boots with you. I hope you find yourself unemployed and can never find meaningful work again. And then let's see you listen to your own "widsom".

Go to a trade school yourself a-hole.

@ek, if you’re unhappy with your current situation, perhaps it would be more productive to look for another job. If you feel you need additional skills, consider enrolling in a trade school to learn something new before making a change.

I fixed it for you...Let’s continue focusing on what we can control —Undermining this sh-t show from the inside

I know that’s easier said than done, especially when uncertainty is in the air. But for now, we’re here, we have a role to play, and we owe it to the people on our plans and each other to shut this multi billion dollar profit driven racket down.

Let’s continue focusing on what we can control — delivering value and supporting one another.

They are not going to mention layoffs or cuts. They want to keep everything chill on the surface so people don’t panic or bounce early—and then outta nowhere it’s “thanks for everything” and you're out.

And yeah, severance? Not gonna be life-changing. Won’t be like in 2024 and it’ll probably be like $500 to $1k per year employed, and that’s if they’re being semi-generous. The whole “we value our employees” and “one centene” is a joke. It’s cold, but that’s the game.

@bs there is no severance policy. It’s an offer that varies from position to position, and subject to change at any time. It’s not guaranteed. The last round of layoffs, people were offered two weeks for every year of employment, plus one additional week. You have to sign an agreement releasing them from any and all future litigation. It was paid as a lump sum (thus taxed higher). Depending on your state, you might still be eligible for unemployment.

At the end of call Drew said; "master what you're doing and then you can look around for other opportunities. They may lead to opportunities."

It's all in code but it's all there. She was asked what this all means for the employees, what can they expect going forward, and what does this change, and are there big changes coming. She said they "feel very good about our strategy", and "WE TALKED A LITTLE ABOUT THIS ON OUR CALL" (emphasis mine). She didn't say WHAT they talked about on "the call", but according to another thread, she specifically mentioned to the investors that they would be "right sizing for 2026".

And Drew repeatedly referenced the "turbulence" ahead.

Sarah and Drew are NOT going to tell you there are layoffs coming. Anyone who saw how SL handled the "leak" debacle in late 2023 remembers how she was basically forced to address layoffs during one of her infomercial town halls, and how much contempt she had for needing to even bring it up. She gets it, she knows we are all terrified of losing our jobs. Put simple, she and Drew don't care. They want to wallop you without warning, it works out so much better than if you're prepared and leave before they are through with you.

So unless I got something majorly wrong here... They just told you everything you need to know.

I’m always amazed that they can spend so much time saying absolutely nothing. A bunch of corporate buzzwords and absolutely nothing value was shared.

Idk about you guys but I'm an adult and having other grown a-s adults throw around the word "Centeam" doesn't do what they think it does haha

Both of them did say it wasn’t their fault that the guidance had to be pulled and other companies did it too. BTW I disagreed with Drew regarding the stock price. It is forward looking and it says it’ll be a long while before the company can regain its footing regardless of what the CEO and the CFO have to say.

Yeah I don’t trust it, they didn’t really tell us anything we didn’t already know. Just wow
