Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Salary Bands Shifted Down

Lower for longer isn't just about the price of oil. It is the future of your compensation! Salary bands shifted down. Be prepared for years of compensation not keeping up with inflation. Apparently we are all overpaid so no raises!

ExxonMobil's short-term goal is to declassify historical CL-29 work to CL-27 to lower global OPEX. We will also lower OPEX by continuing to sell underperforming assets that do not meet the minimum 15% Return on Investment or 15% Return on Capital Employed.

Expect that global "regular employee" headcount to continue migrating from 62,000 employees globally in December 2024 to 40,000 regular employees globally by 2035 by 8% PIP each year and the divesture of underperforming assets.

With very few exceptions, we have come to the realization that we are a commodity business and we need to align our organization structure as a "COMMODITY BUSINESS"

@OP Happening everywhere. Not just Exxon.

Only way to get a pay bump is to jump jobs.

It's available in beqom and is shown with your information for salary communication.

It'll show your last years salary and raise, cl, and percent of paygrade. It'll also show your pending salary action to be communicated.

Official practice is not to share it but rather focus on "the entire compensation package". Its really only a matter of if your supervisor is cool enough to share it with you. Or if you're mature enough to hear it.

@ej how do you know your payband position? This information is not available to supervisors even.

Evidence.

Last year 0% raise, reported to be 105% of payband.

This year exact same ranking, exact same 0% raise, told I was 107% of payband.

Only possible if paybands were pushed down.

This is true…potentials slashed and raises suppressed. We should just be thankful that we remain. YEE 27, CL-27 E performance, Product Solutions, 0% Raise

That's because the company went through and slashed most of the Potentials on people. It started about 2 years ago
