If you hold any Oxy stock, no matter how minimal your holding, you need to be sure to vote. First, be sure to vote OUT any remaining of the APC acquisition board members, there are 2 plus VH. There are other items on the ballot that probably need to be voted against...they only serve to promote the stronghold that the EC and old regime have on the company. I am still in the process of reading through the preliminary proxy documents on EDGAR. We need to come together. Hopefully all the institutional shareholders will do the same thing.

I agree with you nobody really wanted it in the rank and file. I have been at Oxy a short time and have had great dealings with my manager and co-workers. We were a totally different company before the Anadarko acquisition, and would have both been better off as standalone companies. I think there would have been layoffs as well if Chevron had of bought Anadarko, but Chevron could have absorbed the Anadarko purchase better. We all would have been better off if Chevron had of got Anadarko. With that said we are where we are and this virus is just adding to the problem. I just saw my updated salary posted on my employee portal, and it is a true kick in the gut. If I were an LAPC employee I would use this as a chance to prepare what might be coming my way in August. It is truly a gut wrenching experience to see you are making what you made 10 years ago, but it was adjusted the wrong way for inflation. I just hope things turn and this virus cuts us some slack.
Don't listen to those mo–ns. Many of us LOXY knew the acquisition was a bad idea from the start. Way too risky for Oxy, bad for Anadarko employees, and bad for the entire industry. One fewer potential employer in the city. Only the "rah rah Team Oxy #HASHTAG #WINNING" crowd were happy about it. Most of us were concerned, at best.
If I were LAPC, I would have done everything possible to get the COC. I'm happy for anyone who did. For anyone who is still trying to get it, I hope you do too.
If we somehow get lucky and the COC gets activated for LOxy (doubtful), I will do the same. It's stupid to blame the LAPC people for any of this. They didn't want it from the beginning.
Oxy really was a good company to work for, at least for me. Maybe not the best, but definitely underrated. Sadly, those days are over now. To use a sports analogy, Vicky was a great "players' coach", but she didn't turn out to be a good GM.
No matter what happens, I wish all of you the best. Everyone I've gotten to know from LAPC are all great people who don't deserve what they were thrown into. They are entitled to whine if they want to. And this is the best place to do it.
This post just shows the true ignorance of LOXY employees and everything wrong with this integration. Whiny LAPC employees ha! Oxy is on the verge of bankruptcy, Icahn is in the process of taking over the company (LAPC knows how he works), the executives are all being fired with large payouts. Of course we want off the titanic. Oxy employees could possibly be the dumbest workers in the oilfield if they can’t see what’s happening (not trying to be rude). Hold yourselves accountable for once!

@dbl+14ixPb1m APC management did their job. They have a responsibility to their shareholders and they more than exceeded that by getting Oxy to grossly overpay.
The stupidity lies solely on the Oxy management.

Actually, the poster was talking about voting the whiny LAPC employees off the island, not the non-whiners. As a reminder, APC Sr. Management sold the company. They took their golden parachute. The equivalent of abandoning ship. If they, APC, would have been better managers it would not have been SOLD. The unhappy LAPC employees can and should quit.

Add to vote out the LOXY management across the board who have no clue what they are doing. They give out Director titles in this company like candy. Directors and below have zero influence in this place.
Yes, very important to vote. I need to read proxy, but often the shares not voted end up effectively counting as votes in favor of management (Vicki/board)!
