Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Layoff with rating 4 ineligible for rehire?

Are all of them who have been given 4 (no pip) this year and rif'ed later are ineligible for rehire? If anyone is hiring manager here confirm it?

I know it is not in the Emplyee Handbook but since HR said it is Citi Policies, they should be able to provide it for you.
So ask them to provide it and if they can not, ask to confirm if you are eligible to rehire.

It's not in the Employee Handbook. The response was basically saying we're not going to tell you if you're eligible for rehire until you're in the midst of the hiring cycle being considered for a job.

Again, wasting Shareholders' money and time, as well as those of the former employees and Citi's own recruiters.

The logical thing to do and Citi is Not and Never logical, is to tell former employees from the beginning if they're eligible for rehire BEFORE the former employees begin to apply for jobs!

@qj

I got an email reply from HR (Not the dept Business Manager).

It was a boiler plate cookie cutter email stating that due to internal policies, they can Not disclose whether or not I'm eligible for Rehire after the layoff.

The email also said that I'm allowed to apply for Citi jobs. If the hr recruiters assigned to those jobs want to interview me they'll contact me.

So basically in typical Citi fashion, Citi would rather waste the former employees' time, effort and false hopes as well as the time and effort put in by their own HR recruiters, wait until or if we're far along enough in the hiring cycle, AND THEN have the hr recruiter find out if the former employee is eligible for Rehire in the middle or end of the hiring cycle!

This is not only wasted time, effort and false hopes for everyone involved in the hiring cycle but it's also Shareholders' money and time wasted!

Citi "Math", methods and policies FUBAR as usual.

It's NO wonder Citi is the laughing stock pariah of Wall Street! LOL! So sad and pathetic!

Hey sorry to hear about your situation. If nothing is working outside & Inside, could it be due to your resume?
Could also be your location.

@jk

If what you say is true that hiring managers can click Do NOT Rehire on Exit Forms, then what's to stop former employees from disparaging and defaming the managers on Internet Forums, out them and Citi ??

Ever heard of First Amendment Rights to Free Speech and the NLRB Labor Laws ??

Also, if hiring managers are allowed to summarily decide subjectively who's Ineligible for Rehire, this is giving too much power to managers. They become judge, jury and executioner.

That decision should be for HR to decide, Not the hiring managers.

But then this is Sh!ttybank. The laughing stock pariah of Wall Street !

I'm a hiring manager, I tell you the facts that rehire depends on how HM signed in your exit form. If hm clicked 'Not Rehired'. You never ever have a chance to rehire. Same for pip rif. if HR do the same in your exit form.

Resend your email and rephrase the question as "Am I eligible for rehire?".

Period.

Don't go into details about ratings or anything else.

@ec

4 + stayed employed → usually fine
4 + RIF → depends on how HR coded your exit
4 + PIP + fired → higher chance of “no rehire

@ef it's not about back in ,rehire eligibility is not only for that, in UK (and everywhere else) company checks rehire eligibility ..and if it's no it's a red flag..

Can anyone confirm this? I think this is true..as I think I am being rejected on the background verification when rehire eligibility is being checked. If anyone knows how to verify it (will it be written in separation agreement?), emailed HR asking this no response..Got 4 and rifed
