Where and when will these new offices open that they mention on the RTO email ?
Kinda hard to imagine they will spend money on opening offices in the US

@bc Yeah, but that was just a lie.
@dt Thanks for the heads up again.
The mother pu-s buckets at this company are making it very hard to care when they keep taking away team members and expect us to somehow keep the ship afloat.
Bad people are being protected now, just because mid level managers don't want to see anyone else get canned as they know there will be z e r o replacements.
@eq what downsizing is planned for FY2027?
@ed
In a Divestiture, the "buyer" (Company or a PE firm) are expecting the transaction to be acreative...therefore they will almost always jettison some portion of acquired employees within the first year. Exactly when and how many employees and what functions depend on the buyers strategy. There are many transactions where the buyer just wants the IP, and either no employees or a small team to support it. Any residual headcount left at the seller company usually get cut (laid off) on Legal Day One.
I have managed many of these transactions over 20 years (all transactions are unique of course) however very seldom are 100% of employees kept over the long run.
I guess my point is..it's a bad assumption to say all the employees just go to the new company..this is almost never the case.
@dt - a divesture is not a wfr, the people affected get moved to New company
@e2 This round perhaps. They're profit taking. Layoffs will continue until no additional executive bonuses can be awarded.
@dt the new CEO starts in April.
I think WFR/Layoffs will be concluded by then.
First, outside of sales, there is a hiring freeze. Second, outside of sales, any future hiring will be for office based employees only. There will be no new employees who do not live in commutable distance to an office. Third, there is a very large divestiture happening soon. This will result in a very large WFR. Fourth, there are major downsizing plans for FY27 and a big shake up coming for one major core BU. Total number of employees will be cut drastically.
When do you suppose the next RTO announcement will come--the one that mandates relocations for those outside the 50km radius?
@bc The US is in a weird spot. I think they would look into consolidations prior to new leases. Or a number on how many people are in one 50/30 zone before they look into a new lease.
I imagine it'd take a little bit to get that data and see if it's worth.
arab emirates is flush with cash. They can build a lot of offices there.
So it's only Canada ? They said they would open in US too
Small lease in Waterloo
They reportedly bought an additional building in Waterloo.
