Wellmed Rif in December

Any insight to rifs being talked about on Dec 16 or Dec 18? What parts of wellmed will be affected?

@OP We’re any UR nurses let go? Trying to figure out when they will fully automate OCM and get rid of the 1200 nurses that they will no longer need in Optum.

Lost so many coworkers and a great manager. These are definitely not performanced based. There is also no planning for business continutity as they cut some of the unique skills the team had.

More than half my team was let go yesterday plus one manager. This is a group of RN's. Nobody is safe. We tried to figure out who were they targeting, low production, frequent absences, last hired. I think it may have been random. WE even lost a bilingual nurse, huge asset lost there. Only 8 nurses left in our department. I felt like I needed grief counseling after the day, it was hard to focus on the work as some many really good coworkers gone.

"Interestingly, the SPD states a GL 27 with 16 years should get 18 weeks."
What was the explanation for this? Did you discuss this with HR?

I was laid off on 12/16. For me it is bittersweet. (I'm grateful to exit with severance) Yet, if you think about it... the writing is on the wall. I prepared myself to be cut for over a year. I sat back and watched colleagues with over 20 years of tenure be eliminated. When certain people we're impacted I accepted that no one is safe. My advice to those who remain... Get ready. All the signs are there. You are not an exception to any rule. Find your way to turn this negative into a positive. I absolutely loved working for Wellmed. It was a great organization and I appreciate the opportunity I was given. Moving on feels more like growth than defeat.

North texas/dfw area lost most of their risk adjustment team including all managers. I am so disgusted with this company, this is not the same company it used to be.

@ed 16 years with UHC/Optum, and I got 12 weeks plus a week of PTO paid out. Interestingly, the SPD states a GL 27 with 16 years should get 18 weeks.

Laid off today. Disheartened to be loyal to a company so corrupt in leadership to let people go before major holidays. Absolutely NO loyalty at this company. It won't get them far. To rub salt on the wound, they are hiring. Really smart to hire and pay more than to keep loyal people. You reap what you sow.

@ed base pay depending how long you’ve been there.
One year - 3 weeks base pay, etc
< than one year no severance
