Shannon during Q and A talking AI, how OT is focused on making AI automated in our products, like Siri. Good Lord. OT is so far behind the technology, game here, chasing tech leaders.

To answer the premise in the original post; "Are we hiring and returning to growth"

No, we clearly aren't. The whole tone of the townhall was more righting the ship, fixing what's wrong that everyone told him on his 'talking' tour.

Not word one about growth or any sort of vision.

The whole Eteam, CEO included is hardly inspiring. When it started, I went for a coffee refill, only to come back and puzzle over who the granny was on the screen doing the Sandy Ono gig.

Looks like they raided the old age home to get execs to run an AARP meeting.

Couple things I thought interesting. First was the acknowledgment that we're horrible to our partners. I've seen this over and over again. I worked for a software company that integrated their product to another. OT bought that product, blew out the partner channel (like us), so we had to integrate a competitor. We merged with them, then OT bought us and clobbered the partner channel again, as well as the products.

I don't see how you fix a serial partner abuser. Fool me once, that sort of thing.

The second was acknowledging we're tough to do business with, our customers resent our chunk of poorly supported software inbetween crucial systems. I get that. The product I support is a handful to get to play with others. You can't have that these days. It takes little to nothing for your other vendors to add the missing pieces to knock our old software out of the picture.

The crowning glory of the whole Q&A was his reaction to the RTO policy. Horizontal collaboration? Is that like water cooler talk? Good lord. The word for the day is "Obtuse"

I'm really just waiting for a package, TBH. I can weather the storm, why not? But event then, if it doesn't happen next month, I'll plan my next move given the time to do so.

The comment that OT is one of Canada’s premier tech companies made me chuckle. Especially the suggestion that PM Carney will be pumping OT slop.

Seems very insecure. Will do the will of the board (good or bad).

For someone who is 20 days into his tenure he has lots of opinions and seems to have a very high opinion of himself.

Connecting solutions, not working in silos, investing in solutions that add real value and customers will pay for. What does he think people have been suggesting and saying for years. The biggest ego in the room for sure with no real substance, all I can see is further huge change in the smt.

The CEO seems worse than Mark++ , but on the other hand what did we expect when scraping the bottom of dying companies like ibm and oracle cesspools for retirees. The whole board is comprised of useless people that should be spending their time on a beach somewhere rather than poisoning tech companies.

The new CEO is just as bad as Mark. More focused on being funny than anything else. None of the actual concerns employees have were properly addressed

@a7 RTO won't be an issue once the company gets broken up in 18 months

@a7 because they want you to quit or use the RTO policy to lay people off. The ELT has no clue what to do, their only strategy is cost reduction. That means reducing head count, divestitures and focusing on Canadian labour because it’s cheaper. But hey, don’t forget to feel bad for the multi millionaire CEO because he had to work on the weekend.

I will say this though - the emphasis on Partner wellbeing is half-assed. That may even be too generous.

Yes, Partners are important but we don't really take care of them for it. There's supposed to be a Partner/internal resource called testdrive. Fails because a Partner will want access to everything for proper testing and demo. Same for people who want a $0 eval order. And the team handling Partner relations? Handful, with 2-3 for demos that need an order.

I'm not even on that team - don't credit Partners without helping the people that set them up. Get them some help, see if you can automate/self-service some product keys so their Partner status renewals get honored without crazy R&D/engineering keys. That can also turn around and help customers too.

Also please PLEASE sort the sh*tty video condition. It's been bad multiple times, and I'm in the office. If you can't do a decent recording your word is worth the pixels I can count.

why CEO want to force us to BTO like we are still in kindergarten.. sounds like they care more about being stuck in office more than anything
