Is it just me or are most of the new hires...lacking in every aspect? No drive, no experience, no idea what they're doing... Is this the only type of employee we're able to attract these days?

It’s not the products that’s hard to understand…it’s the processes and computer platforms that are the job challenge and lack of time for learning.
It’s almost like… they’ve got no experience and tend to look to others for what to do…
Shocking, I know!
Also, the guy who said “#GenerationRetard” probably eats crayons.
You get what you pay for!
Kids these days...
Uttered by every generation about the new generation coming in.

I agree with the acronym part. Speaking fast using acronyms does not impress anyone. If you cannot use the full names and speak to what it means in terms of company function, then you should not be speaking out loud to anyone. This is also an audit point with regulators given it leads to confusion and misdirection. That is why you cannot use acronyms in procedures. USAA has enough problems, so why add more to the mix.
Worked for a couple large banks then USAA, its almost embarrassing explaining what I did here in interviews
We’ve all been new hires, so let’s be a bit more compassionate . New hires need to trained to navigate the maze of USAA. I remember when I first joined AML, the acronyms alone alienated me from most conversations . It look a while to get up to speed . People leaders really need to up their game in on boarding .
You must be based in San Antonio
The word is out. That place is a miserable clown show.
It is so easy to find the ones who will be quickly managed out, and I am not referencing new hires.

The despicable vocabulary you opted to use tells more about you than you can even imagine! And you are the one passing judgment on new hires! that's insane!
Is it just me or is it that you get what you are willing to pay for?
USAAs reputation as a company to work for has plummeted. No one worth having wants to work here any more, and why would they?
Train them to do what is expected and correct.
Sad, but true.
There are exceptions, of course, but that's the thing...they're few and far between.
#Vaxtardation is a thing, too.
