Some teams lost half of their people

How exactly are they supposed to continue functioning?

@e9 for Target owned brands like Market Pantry. They have food scientists who innovate and create new food items and improve the items already on the shelves. As a customer i can I love the Target branded items. I am sure Walmart, Kroger, etc have R&D as well.

@ba Why does a retail chain have R&D anyway, and a Lab? What are you even testing?

The entire r&d/new technology team was let go. Their lab, which is where lots of teams went for testing and where they gave tours to outside groups, is dark and empty. So much for acceleration.

@ab Exactly. How does getting rid of the entire support team "remove complexity and enable our organization to move with greater speed and agility"? This does not fit w/ their goals.

These contractors did a bad job. Our whole support team is gone. Who do they think is going to pick up the slack for that? High paid engineers? High paid product managers?

Some teams disappeared entirely (e.g. the Multilanguage team that handled all translations.)
